I walk, ride a bike and sometimes borrow my dads car if I really need it.
As for the weather... well... I live in Finland...

1995 Mercedes C-220. It looks like just a normal sedan, but the baby purrs like a kitten and loves to go fast.

Most cities use some sort of subway/underground/elevated train system. Most people in the suburbs drive. People use buses to commute into cities, but not as a main means of transportation.
Ah, thanks for the info. I guess my impression came from the largely negative treatment of buses in the American media I've seen. I'd say that most cities in Scotland (with Glasgow being the only exception I know of) are not large enough for their own intra-city rail network, which is probably why I didn't think about it as a means of transport around American cities and also it reducing the usefulness of buses.

Whoops, 3 a.m., after work, forgot the bus option.

Actually, in St. Louis, the buses are used quiet often. Of course, like in Glasgow, the train is the more awesome of the two.
No problem, buses don't seem to be a popular choice anyway so no harm done.

Frequent, cheap and convenient is how I'd describe the Glasgow subway system. I'd say awesome was a bit of a stretch considering that the trains are tiny, aged (although reasonably well-maintained) and noisy. Also, the smell in each subway station. Egads, hasn't anyone heard of ventilation?

A manly man Ute.

Good enough to take the family to church on Sunday and the pigs to the market on Monday.
[small]That's a saying, I don't really own any pigs or drive my family places against their will[/small]

I walk everywhere since I live halfway between campus and downtown. My town is small enough and central enough that anything I need is easily within walking distance. Anywhere else I can typically get a ride from my roommate.

I'm just short of independent transportation, but for now I depend on getting a ride in a car.
When I'm traveling on my own I'll bike or walk a few miles down to the sandwich place or the school

I'd go as far as to say the St. Louis Metro Link is awesome. Nothing better than seeing a crack head get in a fight with lady holding scissors.
