Well.

First you need an area of wilderness, preferrably away from other human settlements...
wilderness? all you need is a huge blanket, two chairs, and a rainy day. :)

I'm sorry, but "camping" is the fundamentals of how it actually works in the real world. Therefore, "campers" do not annoy me. Unless they spawn camp.

I loooooove campers. So easy to kill. And they drop marsh-mellows!

Gotta accept camping people, in games like CTF or anything requiring a form of defense, how the heck are you supposed to guard a stationary objective? Well, staying stationary yourself is an obvious first option.

Stilling at one spot for multiple kills, while waiting for people to come by. Most I ever do is just pause at a spot for a few seconds, unless sniping. But even then, snipe one or two, then I move. When I first read the title outdoor RL camping came to mind, though... >_>

My play style is a mix of 1 and 3 but usually camping gets me killed. Also, I recall a similar discussion once where people were complaining about campers and one guy said something like "...and I hate those campers with sniper rifles." I'm not sure if I consider SNIPING to be the same thing as camping.

Staying in one room for an entire game is camping. Especially if done so with a close range weapon.

That qualifies as staying in the same corner.

ehh it gets annoying as fuck depending on the game and map. sometimes it can be a whole building if its the whole team, sometimes just a room or area depending on a person, if they can watch the whole area/both doors within one view, then they are camping like a little *****. it gets annoying as hell when it happens and your on a hotstreak, it can happen to any player pulling any strategy, although the sweet sweet feeling of owning that camper right back is always worth it.

Camping and defending ahhh the debate rages, I like to stay in a corner for 3 kills, then swap... since genius sheeptard thinks i'm "camping" he charges or nades where i was, and while he assault that position, i changed to a new one where i can open fire on my old spot. It's fun.

Camping for me is when go to one area of a game map and you never leave that area for duration of a match. It's highly annoying and it makes people think they are great when in fact they are not. The only time i can allow someone staying in one position for an extended period of time is when using a sniper rifle but i'd still like them to move every couple of seconds.

Camping in the same position for a very large ammount of time,if not the whole match,is my definition.

Patrolling a small area is not considered camping i.e: defending your position in a house and trying to cover all the exits by patroling each few seconds the entrances.

It really depends, I see camping as not moving whatsoever for like 1 minute, if you know a guy is gonna walk past then it's all g to just stop and hide. It's something called "taking cover"

Camping involves staying in a small, easily defensible space that the enemy has reason to attempt to attack. This does not apply in instances where one is defending a game objective.

For example, in Quake 3's famous DM17, a skilled player can move to the railgun platform and shoot people with said railgun. Given the approach is utterly exposed and offers no real ability to maneuver and the only weapon available to deliver effective counter fire is the much weaker machine gun, a skilled camper has an enormous advantage as he has access to ample health and ammunition.

hmmm, well camping is just another strategy in game, people just have to live with it.

And well people complain that they keep getting killed by campers then it is their fault for going back to them. If you don't want to get killed by them then stay away from them.

I see nothing wrong with camping.

Sitting in a corner waiting for somebody to come past then killing them. That's camping FACT. But you get these retards who call that "ambushing" or "Defending" So that little corner needs "defending" does it?

There's nothing wrong with being angry that you died. The issue is learning what to be angry at.
If there is a room that is set up in such a way that one camper makes that room literally impossible to get through, that's not the camper's fault, he's just good at strategy. Blame the game makers for irritating map layout all you like.

"Bad" camping is only the WoW definition, where you literally stand on top of someone's corpse, IMO. Otherwise, I try not to really care.

Not completing the objective. If your objective is to kill as many as people, there is no problem. If your objective is to prevent a bombplant and you're defending the bomb site, it's not camping. If your objective is to plant the bomb, and you're not attempting to do it, then you're camping and you deserve to be abused.

A guy messaged me on PSN calling me a "gay-ass camping dick lover".

I didn't really realize I was camping.

Is that a bad sign?
