They should make a sequel to Oni... Of course that will never happen though.
Yeah, seeing as they no longer have the rights to it.

Bungie should make a fantasy game, with many vague ties to it's previous fantasy series.

kill themselves...what? You want a real answer? Fine. They should dump the FPS *cough* Halo clones *cough* and come with brand new idea maybe one that doesn't require you to shoot everything in sight.
Y'know, that doesn't make sense. You can't call Bungie's most recent set of FPS's "Halo clones" because they're Halo games.

Alternatively, they should make something with as deep and complicated a story as Marathon, but keep in game. And keep and as non-linear as Infinity.

Honestly I'd like to see Bungie branch out from the FPS genre, and try something else. Preferably something very different from Halo 3.

Halo-Kart?

All i'm saying people,is that it'd sell.

Lessee... all-caps, multiple exclamation points, unoriginal point... a trifecta! (And just two squares away from a Bingo, as "one sentence post" and "conforms to the hivethink" are on different lines and alas this isn't through the free square in the centre.)

Thank you for playing.

Whatever they do next, they should offer a Mac version. Remember when Bungie's games all came out for Mac as well as Windows? Remember how Halo was originally going to be a Mac/PC exclusive before Microsoft got their hands on it? Remember how the original Halo at least got a Mac port eventually? Whatever happened to those good old days? Somebody has to be the premier developer of video games for MacOS, and Bungie used to be it, so why not pick up where they left off!

I heard that. Or, better yet, make a RPG set in the Myth universe...

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... that would be HOT, like stars are hot!

And I'm serious here, not trying to be a jerk-- Given the switch to OSX, does the concept of 'making games for Mac' even apply anymore?

Go die in a hole lolz lolz.
Sorry the fanboy inside me crept up from the murky depths of dispair, I dunno maybe they shold think up something new, like a game where you ARE NOT an armoured boy scout and actually do something worthwile, like delivering pizzas to zombies.

My instinct was to reply: Bungie can F off...but a moments consideration makes me think they could make a good new ip. Halo is done, let it be lest ye fond memories be tarnished by complacency in new sequels (a console RTS - were they having a laugh?).

There's no option for fade into obscurity.
Nope, sorry.
There should be that option, who's to say that Bungie won't shut down after Halo? It could happen.
I tried to make this poll at least a little bit serious, so that's why I did not add a 'fade into obscurity' answer. But, many of these posts end up asking for a no more Bungie option.

Than may I suggest an option where Bungie is done making games?

You never know...it could happen.

The lead designer could become a kind of anti-Tim Schaffer figure moving from dev to dev creating reams of first person shooters featuring faceless armoured space marines armed with two weapons and retarded friendly NPCs.

I think that'd be Bungie themselves.

I grow tired of repeating myself but here it is again for the bowl of goldfish that is the Internet audience; Bungie is working on a new title that is not Halo. That's not speculation, that's directly from their senior staff.

Also, they've done (shock!) games other than Halo games, most of them award-winners. Oni, Myth, Marathon, Minotaur, Pathways Into Darkness. They've been doing solid work for years.

So they're not going to vanish after they stop working on Halo content. If that disappoints you, well, please find a better coping mechanism than moping on an Internet forum or going into post-traumatic amnesia and making some other poor Bungie fan point this out to you again.

I dont want Bungie to shut down, I liked some of their pre-Halo games, I'm simply saying that some people wanted to see that option, and all I did was vocalize that to the OP.
Also I'm not moping about this, I am a fan of Bungie's works, and I did forget that they were making a new game. Apologies.

New IP.

Failing that, remake Marathon, but for god's sake, not another Halo.

There are series that can keep going without outstaying their welcome and turn into franchises, and there are series that can't. An RTS is probably the furthest they (Ensemble) could deviate from the original FPS formula of Halo without getting the fanboys up in arms.

But now that Bungie aren't on Halo any more, nor are they tied to Microsoft, I would like to see if they could make a title that isn't sci-fi... or if they must, where the hell is the cyberpunk? This industry is cyberpunk starved, and I need my fill.
www.deusex3.com

Never forget this...
Did you hear what they said about the first title?

Cover system? auto regen? I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover but...

Don't ever bring that blasphemous game to these forums again.

Would kill for an omikron remake though...
Oh comon, the cover system is for stealth (its a line of sight system, which makes more sense than having to crouch in shadows like 99% of games) and everyone on the forums is against regen. Besides they haven't announced the details on regen and people are speculating the devs are trying hard to make sense of it and maybe considering giving players abilities that auto regen instead of forcing it.

I personally loved the first game hardcore. Second was unplayable and I couldn't get past the first level without telling myself "wtf is this?" and therefore never finished it. I think so far #3 it looks great and really goes back to it's roots. Best of all it doesn't have uni-fucking-ammo.
After they bashed the first game, I lost faith in this third title. Not lost faith in it as in I think it will be bad, mind, I like what I have been hearing about facial expressions giving away information and other nuances apparently being added to this game.

Regen makes it sound like it is automatically going to be much more action oriented, almost like they are changing the game from ARPG to FPS. Look what happened to Deus Ex 2, which I believed was more action oriented. As soon as I heard they had regen, it made me think that if location damage is even in the game, it will be made redundant if you hide behind an object or wall and then you are fine again. And if it is not in the game, they would have taken out a very important game mechanic.

Granted, it would mean that hiding is even more important, but still. Also they said the first game was dull, so not only do they not understand what made the original so good, but if you insult Warren Spector and Harvey Smith, you deserve every shortcoming you get.
