I haven't played any Poke game since that features any Pokemon after Mew so I have to go with B/R/Y. Pokemon Snap is still the best Pokemon game though!

... IMO ...

-Looks at poll results- lolololololol.

OT: Yeah, saw that shit coming. I gotta go with the second series, just because it was jumping the hilarious gap between creative and clown-shit crazy. It had some pretty cool designs without getting too complicated/ridiculous. And as previously mentioned, third series gets bonus points just for Mudkip.

The first. In the first you wouldn't be disapointed because (I think) all of the pokemon back then were realeased onto that one game card after that i think they would pick pokemon which pokemon would be featured by choosing names out of a hat, you'd just have to make due with what they gave they would skip out on a ton of new and old pokemon that people really liked.

You can get all the first gen pokemon in Gold and Silver, as well as in Diamond and Pearl. i think there is a way to get them in ruby and sapphire as well by trading from first gen remakes.

So yea... you can all the pokemon in every game

I'm disappointed in the poll results. First gen of pokemon was rather ugly, and horrificly imbalanced.

The second gen fixed all of its predecessors problems, adding the Dark and Steel types to balance things out, Gave the games color, added more complexity to the pokemon themselves, and added the aspect of time. Most importantly, it allowed for travel with two regions, increasing game time immensely.

If we are talking about game, gold/silver hands down.

If we are talking about the actual pokemon, red/blue. Mostly because they were less, and I could figure out what evolves into what.

You always had to trade to get all of them. Currently, you can get everyone except gen 2 in gen 4, (because you can plug in the GBA games to the DS for gens 1 and 3). That's why they're doing 2nd gen again.

Also, I can't wait to pick up my copy of Heart Gold.

The originals were the first, my favorite were the gold/silver, they looked cooler, But my greatest achievement was in ruby/sapphire, I got a level 100 blaziken and I captured the legendary pokemon from Emerald, I forget the names...

The originals were what started it so they get special mention. Pikachu will always be in every pokemon game ever, so theres an accomplishment lol

quick question. Do all the newer generations live together with the old ones. Or is it a different universe?
together
Damn they must have pulled some magic trick.
Last time i saw pokemon, was ash still owing a bike to misty, having a pikachu and charizard was being stubborn. It must be really crowded now in pokeland.

its seems the creators of pokemon just keep rushing out garbage for new pokemon ideas.

so my question is, what do you think was the best generation of pokemon?

my fave was the gold/silver/ crystal genration. the pokemon looked awesome, and in the games you could travel to both kanto and jhoto! plus there wasent like 39283 million pokemon so filling out the pokedex wasent an impossible task set out by satan. and you could connect to red and blue games to trade as well!

so gold and silver get my vote, they have a remake in production too so thats neat.
I'd say red/blue/yellow, because then the Pokemon were fresh and the playing was fun. Now, with the bloody re-releasing and re-hashing, they have drained all of the enjoyment that the originals had to offer. And they're running out of elements.....

Gold/Silver/Crystal definitely had the best storyline since it gave you something significant to do AFTER the Elite Four. Go to MORE gyms, get MORE badges, gain access to an uber-elite mountain, and on top face the singular most challenging opponent to date with Pokemon leveled in the 70s to 80s.

But I'll make a statement that I'm sure won't earn me any brownie points:

The generation 4 (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum) Special/Physical split was the best mechanic change to ever happen in Pokemon. Now your team's stats don't dictate what elemental attack it can use effectively.

So needless to say, I'm stoked about HG/SS
