Poll: What was your First Pokemon?

Well seeing as how I got yellow that narrows it down a lot. The first one actually caught was one of those rodent ones.

Squirtle. I meant to look at all 3 starters when I first got Pokemon Blue version, but I accidentally selected him. Still my favourite from that generation.

just for the first two gyms, after that i found it to be easy mode, but i did overpower him to the point where i killed mewtwo in one shot...

OT: Charmander, i liked the fact i could have a fire lizard, then later down the road, a fire dragon, at my beck and call.

man, those were the days. i still have that squirtle. he's a blastoise now, level 100. i never restarted the game after I beat it. I actually bought Blue just so I could play again without losing my beloved original team.

The first pokemon I ever had, far before I even had the games, was Sandshrew.

I started collecting the figures and watching the show early on, but didn't pick up any of the games for years.

Charmander was first, but I lost the game before I finished it (I was 8). So I bought a new game and started with Squirtle.

Bulbasaur. Just because it said that it was the perfect pokemon for beginners. I was 7 at the time (I didn't get Pokemon Blue as soon as it was released) and I thought the game was being literal. Although I did end up with all 3 starters (CHARIZARD IS AWESOME!) due to having Pokemon Red as well.

BUT! I would have wanted charmander... because in those youthful days... anything to do with red/fire was always the best...

I picked Charmander because I watched the TV Series before I bought the game and Charmeleon was always my favourite Pokémon On subsequent playthroughs I always went for Bulbasaur though.

Exactly the same as this. I did my first run with Charmander since he's the most awesome out of the three, but then on subsequent runs I went with bulbasaur. (I found the rock/water gyms early on annoying with fire and you can easily get a really good water and good fire alternatively).

Started with Red version and Squirtle. Strange, I know man.

I think I also had charmander first on Pokemon Blue. I just think I got a random copy >.>
