A T-rex. No zombie would pick on the dude riding a T-rex. Extra points if it has a harness that shoots laser beams.

I think the Motorbike with dual chainsaws from the upcoming Dead Rising 2 would be pretty useful. That, or a bomber plane.

Helicopter = instant escape in an easy to mange format. However, if I must be on the ground, I'd use a mini van because then you can haul some serious stuff and maybe a passenger or two and have some weight behind you when you run over the zombie. And zombies have issues with pulling and sliding, which is required to open the two big doors.
Yeah thats just what I was going to say ;)

Yeah, that won't just attract like a million zombies who will skullfuck you when it runs out of gas and ammo, not at all.
as apposed to? Name one vehicle that wouldn't encounter that problem?

From the list, I would choose a nice boat.

- you live on the water, giving you a great line of sight to any incoming threats (in fact, some breeds of zombies could not swim (infected need to breathe, so they would drown)).
- you can fish, thereby having a renewable resource for food.
- With many docks containing freighters and tankers, supplies can be rounded up fairly quickly when you need to stop in a port.
- You can venture to a different continent, if the outbreak has been quarentined to a certain region.

A nuclear submarine.

I cite this from World War Z, as the author dedicated a whole chapter to a nuclear submarine that was able to survive and navigate through the zombie-overwhelmed world. Long-lasting power, provisions and the capability to house food-growing materials, able to move throughout the entire world as needed, and able to defend itself.

I don't know if it's been said, but a Solar-Powered Airship.
well, Solar and pedal powered.
No need for fuel, and you can just fly over the zombies.

I'd say that I think I would feel the most safe if I managed to get a hold of a sailing boat of some sort. The problem would mostly be that a recreational sailing boat is not known for its' ability to stock up on supplies and it was years since I've last wind sailed. A few solar panels could help alleviate the obvious problem with running out of battery power.

Hmm. All have their good points and bad points but I agree with the pick-up truck on one condition.
That it is a Toyota Hilux. Those things are damn near indestructible.
Hang on for a bit and I'll find the proof.

EDIT: Proof is in the vids below. This is all real and no parts were replaced.

Best option by a mile.

Okies.

Realistic: 4x4 Something such as a Mitubishi Shogun (LWB), Toyota Land Crusier (Amazon) Land Rover Defender, Discovery 4 or Range Rover. All the Diseal Verisons so can be ran on Sunflower Oil, heating oil etc and you don't need 'to' really convert them

Unrealistic:

Tanks: Leopard 2 or Challenger 2 Due to running on Disel fuel and a lot easier to find then Jet A fuel that the M1 Aberham needs for it's Turbine

Ship/ Sub: American: Seawolf or Virginia Class, Russian: Akula or Graney Class, British Royal Navy: Only one Vanguard. All with a Skeleton crew so can stay at least 6 months underwater until need food supplies.

Carriers: Queen Elizibeth Class since they don't need Catabolt aircraft only STOBAR & STOVL
Aircraft to go with Above, Harrier GR9's Westland Lynx's Striped out for fast transport (Worlds fastest Helicopter), Eurofighter Typhoons (Naval verisons)

That should do i think.

I already answered another guy who said this exact same thing.

My suggestion, while not flashy, is practical and makes sense:

A pedal bike would never run out of gas, never make any noise, never make a high profile target for violent looters, it would be able to swerve inbetween vehicles on clogged roads, and it would be the best vehicle for a (slow zombies) zombie apocalypse, not to mention, where the hell are you going to get a tank with flamethrowers any way?

We aren't talking about what kills the most zombies in the first ten minutes, we are talking what will allow you to continue breathing
