All options end with certain death other than surrender and escape attempt, which only end with almost certain death. Surrender, being as cowardly as it is, would be hard to live with afterwards, and in the chance that they kill you anyways would make a pretty pathetic end.

I would choose escape. It's smarter than fighting to the death, and braver than giving up and leaving your fate in the hands of the enemy.

Either that or I'd cool their fiery hearts with a fresh island song. Works every time.

heh, i think everybody that chose 'fight to the end' would first piss themselves in fear and then surrender or run as soon as they saw everybody else starting to run as well!
Mass panic is incredibly contagious.
Ofcourse we all like to think we would be brave ppl and do the 'heroic' thing. in reality it never works out the way we hope.
Gamers have an amped up 'flight or flee' instinct as it is. When you actually have your life on the line: trust me, you will run...i just hope i can run faster then any of you ^_^

edit: nvm, didn't see the 'no allies beside you'. I would still run and hide. Death is never an option to me

I honestly cannot say. I am not sure if I could summon the strength to keep fighting. But if I was protecting someone, I would certainly be able to summon the strength to die fighting for them.

Having a 100 % certainty that you're doomed actually makes thins easier: no hopes or other thoughts to distract you. I voted "fight to the end", but I might decide to end it myself at the very last point to make sure no-one got the pleasure of finishing me. If guns were involved I'd save the last bullet, if swords I would, to use Robert Jordan's words (at least that's were I picked them up), "sheath the sword". I.e. plunging myself on an enemy weapon, making sure it hits somewhere so I live for a couple of seconds, and use the momentum to decapitate the enemy.
If loss is certain, minimize bragging rights...

Let's look at the facts: Escaping has been established as impossible.
Bargaining? Pfft, yeah, good luck with that.

ok let me rephrase what i mean before somebody gets hostile. i meant anybody trying to say they would be badass in that situation is lying. ok? Second i said TRYING to escape.

2. I got mixed up - I assumed you meant anyone who would fight was lying. Not being a bad ass.

I'm still at a loss as to why 'try to escape' was even thrown into the poll, especially when it's been established in the OP that it's impossible.

That's similar to what my approach of the issue would be. If I was protecting someone that I had a strong desire to protect from harm, I would fight to the bitter end for their sake. I'd naturally think past myself and my own selfish needs to defend them as long as I can.

When it comes to this scenario, however, where it is just yourself and nobody else, then it would be different. All alone, I would try to come up with some method of escape. Whether that would be through deception or running, I can't say. It just depends on the surroundings. I could never muster the will to kill myself, nor could I just surrender and let them determine my fate. If something is going to bring me down, I'm going to be the deciding factor on what happens to me. Not the enemy.

to be honest i would probably say "i quit" and surrender and hope for the best and see if i can escape between the time they capture me and the time they start torturing me
