Best recent, Brawl.
Best I've played, Soul Caliber 2. Four was too slow and had no enjoyable game modes. Still good, but it offered so little.

feel free to discuss whether or not brawl should be considered a fighting game. *Trollface*

Nah, I hate that kind of humor...
That isn't my issue with Brawl being on the poll. My issue is that Brawl was the one of the most horrid games I've ever played, and typing that reminded me that is was the second game that I ever stopped in the middle of, said "this is stupid", and quit playing it for good (first was Halo). Original was good and Melee was awesome, but Brawl sucked.

OT: Dissidia. I don't care much for fighting games, but I enjoyed the first and so far the second is decent, haven't played much...

Staying up until 2am trying to kick the final boss' arse on Tekken 4 with the wimpiest character. Funnest frustration ever.

Out of that list, Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
But I'd still say the fighting game I've most enjoyed is BlazBlue CS.

Hisoutensoku, by far.

Followed by, in no particular order, Brawl, BlazBlue: CT (CS isn't on the PC yet), Powerstone and a couple of those Gundam games that can't decide if they're fighting games or a TPS with jetpacks.

Jump Ultimate Stars. It's such an incredibly large game. I've pumped in well over 99 hours into the game (The game clock stops at 99 so I don't actually know how much of my life I've clocked into it) most of which was spent unlocking all the different characters and preset decks. (Not an easy feat, I might add.)

It's a real easy game to pick up and play, something I can't really say for other fighters like BlazBlue, Mortal Kombat, Tekken or SoulCalibur. If I had to compare it to anything, I'd probably call it as close as we'll ever get to a Super Smash Bros. DS, except I enjoy it a lot more than Super Smash Bros.
