Voted for Planescape: Torment, never played Icewind Dales, and I've heard they're pretty much just more of BG with worse stories.

I STILL play Baldur's Gate to this day (the modded version which lets you play both games in one go, using all the improved classes from BG2), and anyone who's heard be espouse on my favorite games knows BG2 is counted on as my personal "Best Game Ever." A great story, great characters, and solid gameplay made this one phenomenal.
Whats the name of that mod?
It's the Baldur's Gate Definitive Trilogy Mod.

They were fun, but I didn't play them that much. Liked the original BG's more.

Why wasn't it in the poll to begin with? And linking it with IWD after most people have voted is just pointless and silly.

Well, it wasnt there because I added the things people told me too and by the time people started mentioning Planescape it was full, so I added it to the thing with the least votes.

You can have my copy if you like, It has to rank as my most disliked RPG of all time...except FFVII. You'll have to pay for postage from the UK though.
YOU GIVE ME IT NOW
I have bg 1 and 2 with the expansions
And the huge ass manuals for them
But I NEED MORE!
No. You already have them. Don't be greedy.

How.. How?! HOW?! I admit, I own Dark Alliance 1 & 2, they're fun, they're great fun on co-op, but they are skidmarks compared to baldur's gate.

There you go, you already answered your question. Dark alliance 1&2 were fun to play. Baldurs gate was not, it was a chore. Same as every other bioware RPG except, for some wierd reason, NWN1.

Almost any PC can handle Baldur's Gate. My first laptop was the size of 3 ps3's and could handle BG1.
But anyway, they are VERY VERY VERY different. Please, play BG 1/2
Oh, and also, you are the image of me..
I use that exact avatar as my picture on Skype.
And Im usually called TetrisGOAT, you're called Toastergoat..

I suppose I'll have to go for Planescape: Torment. I still have to finish that one of these days. I didn't start until a couple years ago, and then I lost my saves, so I was waiting a bit to restart it until I didn't mind replaying the beginning again and got sidetracked by other stuff. Maybe after I finish The Witcher (which will be any year now, at this rate...). The parts of it I did play before it tried to kill and eat itself I liked more than anything else on the list, though.

Kind of a shame Diablo's winning, since it makes me feel dirty to call it an RPG next to all those others. I'm also kind of biased, since I never really liked it in the first place. Heh. Most things I consider to be "classic" RPGs aren't on there, since I was more of a console person back then (high five to whoever it was who mentioned Illusion of Gaia, even if it wasn't nearly good enough to deserve a spot in a poll like this...still own a physical copy of that). I'd probably go for "most good SNES RPGs that aren't Chrono Trigger", since I'm one of those weird people who didn't see what the big deal was with it. CT was very polished and had some good ideas, but I had a lot more actual fun with stuff like FF6 and Lufia 2 (and I know someone out there will hunt me down and kill me in my sleep for saying I liked Chrono Cross more than Chrono Trigger).

Oh, and if having to deal with the ancient interface (after being spoiled by newer games) when going back to play stuff like the original Fallout these days makes me feel like kicking puppies, would I be able to tolerate Baldur's Gate without it making me want to stab someone? I never did get around to that when it was new but always kind of meant to. Same question for Arcanum, since that's been on my list for years, too.
