We dont celibrate Santa with Christmas as much as America does. However we have a similar festive called "sinterklaas". The usual present giver thing and stuff. My parents just told me he didnt exist when I was 10. If I am ever planning to have kids I will do the same thing. If they havent figured it out by the age of 8-10 I will tell them myself.

I don't remember the exact age but I think I was about 8 or 9, No one ever told me outright I just kinda guessed and my parents dropped the charade. It has made things somewhat less magical though.

I didn't even know people believed he existed until I was around 12 and learned something about American culture.

I did believe in the guy your Santa Claus is based on though. Until I was about 9.

When I was 5 or 6 my grandma told me which pissed my pairents off beacuse she spoiled it while I was still young. But when I was 8 I heard something on my roof and my dog barking at something on chirstmas eve so I beleived in him once agian <3
Untill I was a little bit older and I noticed my mom buying the gifts. Good times.

My parents never tried to make me believe in that kind of crap, so I don't think I ever actually believed in him in the first place. I mean, telling your children stories and such is nice and all, but trying to make them believe in stuff like that is just plain wrong.

It seems like your entire title is a spoiler. XD

OT: Well... My mom never really did Santa Claus, so I never had a real point ot beleieve in him. I knew of Saint Nick, the guy he's based off of, but not of Santa Claus.

I was 8, in a Garden Centre, my mum blurted it out by mistake. The problem was, we were just about to go into Santa's Grotto. I kicked him in the shins and tried to warn the other kids he was fake, and pulled his beard off.

I did not take it well.

Found out at school but didn't believe 7 year old stoners, but then i found a receipt in the car with all of my easter presents on it, and I just pieced the rest together. It wasn't traumatizing or anything...although I don't think that if I have kids, I'll tell them about Santa. I don't want to lie to them

I was about 7 and I noticed that santa and my mum had the exact same handwriting and used the same gift wrapping paper. I was just like "Ah... Ok then..."

My brother was always telling me that Santa didn't exist, I didn't believe him until I stay up late to try catch a look at Santa. I found only my mother and father putting presents under the tree. I was about 7 or 8. You just imagine the look of surprize and horror on my face when I found out.

I found out that Santa didn't exist when I was like 11 years old. I had received the first Pokemon gameboy game as a gift from Santa, and my dad got mad at me for playing it nonstop and said something like "I never shoulda bought that for you." The rest, as they say, is history.

I think I was in the 10-11 region. Christmas hasn't been the same since. Now I can blame all the crappy gifts I get on my parents instead of some mystical figure who doesn't know any better.

If for some dumb reason I have kids in the future, I'll probably pass the magic on to them. It would make buying gifts more fun and sneaky while making the holiday experience more magical for my kids.
