If money isn't a problem (I'm guessing it's not, since you can afford any console), I'd always go for upgrading your PC.

If you must have a console, then the PS3 is my favourite. Reliable, free online play, very ergonomic and comfortable controllers, better exclusive games.
Unless the PS3 has some hit new game called "We don't have any exclusive games" I don't think they have any good unique franchises

Especially since Final Fantasy is now coming to 360 too

Go for 360, you get what you pay for, and xbox live is SO much better than PS3 online, with a PS3, you're mostly paying for a Blu-Ray player that you'll probably never use, with the 360, you're actually paying for a GAME console, a damn good one at that
A damn good console that bricks itself half the time?
Also, you get what you pay for... doesn't the 360 cost less than the PS3? That's like openly admitting it's inferior.
Exclusives for the PS3 (just to name the really popular ones or the ones I really like)
Demon's Souls, FF Vs XIII, God of War, Gran Turismo, Heavy Rain, Heavenly Sword, inFamous, LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid, Motorstorm, Ninja Gaiden, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, Siren, Uncharted, Valkyria Chronicles, etc. versus, what, Gears of War and Halo? Both of those games are so derivative that I might as well play Doom.

I really want one. Especially to play that Monster Hunter game.

Which one is better?
And please tell me why.
especialy to play that monster hunter game? you need a psp for that (unless you mean the ps2 monster hunter but dont get that its online is down now so its crap) which is why I was suprised to see that I was the only one who voted psp

OR unless you are talking about monster hunter 3 tri which is a wii game

I'd have the ps3. Unfortunately I bought the 360 for some reason. I got it refurbished. I got mass effect recently for it. And within an hour, it said the disc was unreadable even though the game was NEW. The on-line play isn't free. The games don't always work, the backwards compadibility is crap. Most of all, I hate microsoft. The PS3 WORKS BETTER. It has almost all the same games, It costs only $300 now, and the older models (Which can play ALL ps2 and ps1 titles) are cheaper as well on amazon. It's cooler looking and it is over all better.

Well I only acknowledge the ps3 and xbox360 as real consoles. The rest are to be ignored. Or you could just get a good computer and have fun using it not only as a device for gaming, but many other things like enhancing your edumacation.

Xbox is great and all, but paying for live and all those accessories can be a bit of a pain.

So, i reccommend that you either get a PS3 or upgrade your PC.

PC if you've got the money. Gives a better experience and more customisible(bad spelling sorry) and I prefer the mouse/keyboard for most types of games esp FPS.

But, if you want a console i'd choose a PS3. I like my PS3 a lot, it's reliable, free online, got some good games and pretty good graphics. The blu-ray feature isn't bad although will be better when the price of the movies come down.

I do like the 360 don't get me wrong, but theres so many extras you have to buy for it and it's just not a good experience. The only thing i like is more people are on Live compared to PSN

Ugh... ugh... erghm... ui...

OH I JUST CAN'T RESIST!

OK, list of PS3 exclusives...

Well, this isn't all of them, but a LOT of them...

Actually no, I want my Morpheus, goddamnit!

Look it up yourself... I shan't stop you extra words

Keep in mind, this is just evidence against your argument.

PS3, by the way. It is, actually, when you include Live and accessories and whatnot, cheaper than the Xbox 360. I like mine because it is reliable, has good games... yeah, stuff like that.

I'd buy a 360, and then a Wii. The 360 has some killer shooters and RPGs, while the Wii offers something different. Plus if you like Dead Space on the 360, you can get the prequel for Wii.

I think this may have already been mentioned, but look at what exclusives you want on each console, and make your decision based on the games you want. Like shooters? Get a PS3; they're pretty much all shooters. Like variety? Get the XBox 360. Like to stand around and wave your arms like you're being swept out to sea? Get the Wii. Also, pay attention to what the online stores have to offer (because you mentioned you'd consider buying the PSPgo, I'm going to assume that you're quite prepared to purchase things over the net, for any console).

Asking a bunch of fanboys on the net what console you should get is a fruitless affair. This is about what you want to play, not what you think other people want you to play.

Everyone who has a PC and friends to interact with on the PC, loves their PS3.

Everyone without a friend on the internets, loves their XBOX360 and all the red rings of death they receive.

For me, I own a PS2 and a Wii because nearly all of my gaming is done on the PC (and I am a mario fanboy who still has his original 8-bit NES). Although I am considering a PS3 because my wife wants to play Devil May Cry 4 and a few other games and it gives us Blu Ray.

XBOX360 = great console with great online pay to play and a shitty company standing behind it (unless you like red rings of death).

Lol, only a few consoles get it. And you get it once, and that's it. Besides, you get a free month of gold if you get RRoD.

well 360 or ps3 now its down to personal preference so ill try to help as i have both.

the ps3 is 50 quid more but has a built in wireless adapter so if u dont need it thats a waste.

the 360 online is i think 35 quid a year but is better, so it depends if you think its worth it i currently dont tho.

the 360 has a much higher failure rate

so far ps3 has it down so far lol

but the most important thing is the games now im really into shooters so my gaming advice wont often stray from it.

so xbox has
1)crackdown
2)dead rising
3)mass effect
4)halo 3
5)halo odst
6)gears 1
7)gears 2
8)left 4 dead

it will get in the future
1)left 4 dead 2
2)halo reach
3)crackdown 2
4)mass effect 2
5)splinter cell conviction
Arguable 6) gears 3 (apprently it seems it may not be until the next gen but still possible this gen)

ps3 has
1)uncharted
2)MGS4
3)infamous
4)resistance 1
5)resistance 2
6)killzone
7)LBP
8)ratchet and clank

it will get in the future
1)uncharted 2
2)ratchet and clank 6
3)god of war 3
4)mag
arguable 5) resistance 3 (the ending was leading to a sequal but no word on it)

also hers downloadable games
psn
1)shatter
2)fat princess
3)trine (im not sure if 360 has this)
XBLA has
1)splosion man
2)shadow complex
3)braid (i think this is coming to psn soonish)
4)trials hd

i hope ive helped you make ur decision and that in the end ull realise u should get both... anyway hope you get the right console for you.

PS
ow i almost forgot if ur pc is relatively good get a ps3 as quite a few 360s go to pc like l4d and gears and mass effect etc.

PS2
the 360 controller is nicer but it has batteries while ps3 has a wire to the ps3 to charge easily you can get a charge kit or normal rechargable AA's

120 GB Xbox 360 Elite with a Jasper motherboard, but a white controller (because the thumbsticks don't slip). The force feedback Racing Wheel is also worth getting. Xbox LIVE Gold is a must.

The Modern Warfare 2 Special Edition 360 is over the top. Get a PSP for Monster Hunter and Loco Roco if you really want those games.

The PS3 is more about interactive movies and Blu-ray playback than proper gameplay. I'm not knocking it. The PS3 is good for what it is, just not fun. The Wii lacks the precision in its motion sensitive controller (and the games that rely on this technology) to really have any deep fun. You can have just as much fun with a game of charades or a twister mat.

The iPod Touch is getting better games all the time and they are very cheap, by comparison to the other platforms.

I would go with the PS3 mostly because it is more reliable...

It used to be worst because a lot of developers couldn't develop multiplatform games that worked the same on both systems, but this has improved now. Now only a few third party games are actually exclusives on each side.
