I'm going with Mr. House... meaning an alliance of independent city-states that build trade routes and meet to decide on matters of import to all. House himself saw things a little too black and white, he was too willing to destroy any group he saw as having dangerous ideology... ignoring the likelihood of revolution... but aside from that, he was the best choice humanity has been given in a Fallout game.

Fuck NCR. I would like them a lot more if every one of them wasn't a dick to me for doing their work.

Fuck Caesar. totally stupid way to run society(look what happened to the romans). BUT the legion questline is the most fun.

House is a tyrant. But i like him better than the NCR or Legion.

Independant new vegas is the most satisfying ending.

The Brotherhood of Steel, although the NCR comes in a very close second.

The Enclave has already shown time and again that they only have interests in regaining what they lost in the 2077 nuclear disaster, with less regard for survivors of the wastes, so I wouldn't trust them.
Brotherhood of steel only want Tech though and are willing to kill anyone with it so they might not make the best government, I do agree about the Enclave though

Legion, the Roman empire lasted a hell of a long time. So modeling the government after theirs isn't entirely bad...
The only reason the Roman Empire lasted so long was because of the foundation the Roman Republic set up, A new nation created to be the Empire would fail unless they create the Republic first.

OT: NCR all the way I tried to side with them my first time throught, which led to my one and only complaint about the game. Why can't I kill house and take over his fully upgraded and operational army of awesome robots, and then give my support to the NCR? That was what my plan was but no, I had to side with a free Vegas, fuck that I don't want them to be free to do what they want. I also tried to recreate the casino's using the Kings, Brotherhood, and the boomers, but that didn't pan out either.

I could be dead wrong but doesn't Yes Man banish you from New Vegas and take over at the end of the the Independent Vegas senario?

"After the assault of Hoover Dam, Yes Man informs you that he found pieces of code within Mr. House's mainframe that "change [his] personality" and says he will seem to be offline for a little while until his personality change is complete (he never actually shows his changed personality due to the game ending). Part of the change is that he's going to be more "assertive", hinting that he will no longer be under the Courier's control."

Banish? Nah. He says he found some buried code that would let him be more personally assertive (rather than being the pushover he is now), and that it'll take him some time to dig it up. At the close of the Independent Vegas ending he's more of a facilitator than a ruler.

Plus, you know, dude's a robot. If needed he could be reprogrammed. Especially if you have the Robotics Expert perk.

Definitely the Shi Empire, they're reverse engineering a lot of good tech, have a stable power base and seem pretty civilised. That or the Vault-City/Gecko/NCR alliance or the Vault 13/Arroyo nation but we never got to see how that worked out.

The Midwest Brotherhood of Steel is pretty good given the right leadership.

I always took from the way he said it to basically mean that he was going to be the new House

i prefer house, although he his sort of like a totalitarian ruler he has the most knowledge of how society worked before the whole nuclear apocalypse. Hes also a genius and is trying to develop technology to restore water and plant life. i think the the wasteland is too choatic at the moment for any sort of democracy to work effectively.

Enclave. Everyone else seems like savages poking advanced tech with sticks.Tech would cover up an amazing amount of annoyance with other facets of their governance. Food, power, safety and medicine? Sign me up.
The problem there is that the Enclave has a strict no outsiders policy. They really only care about sustaining themselves, not others.

I have always gone for the NCR. They have the most potential to secure a stable government, they're democratic, and they don't go around murdering people for braindead reasons (looking at you, Legion).

The legion is unsustainable because the entire organization is about following Caesar. They don't actually understand his ideals, only that they should do what he says. Once Caesar dies, which would likely happen soon considering his age, the legion would likely split and crumble.

Mr. House is batshit insane. Simple as that.

Is it possible to choose yourself? I'd pick myself, then create a minimal state afterwards, which would definitely require me to remove myself from power at some point.

House just wants your money, pure and simple. As a living, breathing person you don't mean squat to him unless you are useful in some way. If you aren't, go piss your money away in a casino and GTFO.
Yes, House wants your money, but you are missing the entire point as to why he wants your money.

Simply put, House seems to be one of the few people capable of advancing New Vegas. The NCR will just stagnate it, the Legion will send it backwards, and anarchy will leave it somewhere in between depending on your actions. If it wasn't for the efforts of House in the first place, there wouldn't be a New Vegas left, at least not one you'd be able to recognize. With the money that House generates from New Vegas, his goal wasn't to simply hoard it, but to invest it. He wanted to create society from the ground up. He had visions of the future with what he could do with New Vegas. Plans of recreating rail lines that would cross the country once more. Plans for remaking the high tech sector, and having technology start advancing once more. I was kinda iffy on House before, but when you see what he's planning, and the capability he has, I don't think there are any others on this list suited for handling New Vegas.

And on a side note, fuck the BOS.

NCR has the most potential for a log term Gov. Look at the BROTHERHOOD... Stagnation and never changing laws and rules leads to stagnation and decline. Caeser's slave Army is veryyy short term and will collapse fast. NCR has the best beauracracy and potential. My two cents.

I for one think it'll be interesting when the east coast brotherhood of steel meets the NCR. They're still brotherhood, and likely carry around the scars of the brotherhood's war with the NCR. And the NCR for their part will probably be surprised to find the brotherhood already out there. They are however doing things differently than the West coast brotherhood. Their actions have probably done a great deal to endear them to the locals and since they recruit from the populace by the time the NCR reaches them they could potentially have solved the brotherhood's greatest problems, being their small numbers and isolationism. If they're something like the authority of their region by that time that would make things all the more interesting. Of course they have a lot of catching up to do with the NCR. Organization on the east coast is virtually non existent and they're still scavenging tech as opposed to manufacturing it. I'm wondering what a brotherhood run society would look like? Strings of fortresses?

Anybody know whatever happened to the Shi? As I recall they were a serious player on the world power scene, they even got their hands on the schematics for vertibirds but now I hear nothing.

Clearly the Republic of Dave is the way to go. :p
true that hahaha but i think that the legion has the best plan of action, people will get hurt and die, but that always happens when shit hits the fan (for examples please see Europe after the fall of the roman empire). you need a guy with a big stick and even bigger balls to beat everyone into line to form some semblance of a society. plus i think Caesar is a bit more informed about his situation than most think, personally i think he would set up a feudal system of sort, but still reign as king, but thats just me...

o_O .... NCR are the bad guys.... Apocalypse and Boomers had the right idea. Work together to improve the conditions for the people, and blast anyone that tries to steal your stuff.
