NCR is probably the lesser of the evils. They're the only ones, other than the Followers, who are bothering to education its population.

The NCR. Democracy now and forever!
An interesting note: All NCR main plot quests have three ways to settle things: Really good, meh, and just kill everyone.
It's because the NCR has the most potential for good, but in a Democracy things can go either way.

Caesar's Legion, is the one! It reduces the chance of another nuclear fallout by alot :D
They do it by reducing us to the technological level of educated chimps.
They also strip away every basic human right, and believe in nothing but constant conquest.
Just because we won't have a nuclear war, doesn't mean we can't kill everyone.
You need to study your Roman history boy, especially the rise to power of Julius Caesar and Gias Octavian Caesar Augustus(The fourth coolest guy in history)
Except the Legion are nothing more than pretenders. They kill culture, and technology. They kill any chance of progress. The NCR allows progress to happen. Monarchies are the most abused, and the worst government system to come out of Humanity since Anarchy.

The Legion isn't Rome, they pretend to be Rome. They share none of the qualities of Rome at all, and no contributions to humanity. Rome contributed to humanity, the Legion takes and destroys progress.
Are you going to quote me everytime i choose Caesar's Legion?

I at first played as an NCR supporter thinking them the best faction, but slowly saw how much they were like the Bush administration in their ideals. But all the while working secretly for House, playing both sides was fun, until I encountered Yes Man and decided to betray everyone, fight back the Legion and take over myself while helping the Followers of the Apocalypse.

So I chose other, meaning me.

Followers of the Apocalypse would never be able to run a society. I think they would be crushed due to their lack of military drive.
I chose Mr. House.

Legion, the Roman empire lasted a hell of a long time. So modeling the government after theirs isn't entirely bad...
Caesar's Legion is like ancient Rome in name only. Ancient Rome was the pinnacle of scientific knowledge in the world, whereas Caesar demands technological backtracking. Caesar's Legion would collapse after Caesar died, anyway. As Hanlon said, the Legion is following Caesar, not his ideals.

House would be best for long term progress, if only because of his ability to get things done. He isn't a very moral person, but he's -effective-.

Either the NCR or East Coast Brotherhood of Steel.

The Legion will collapse once Caesar dies ( you kill him, the cancer does or he does of old age), the Enclave can't adapt to the new environment, and House's ideas will get stopped dead once the lack of proper resources and cooperation becomes apparent. The normal Brotherhood of Steel can't survive either; their ideas about technology and acceptance just will not hold up for very long in the Wastelands. (The sad part too is during New Vegas you get to see that even people of the main body of the Brotherhood realize this, but refuse to change or adapt, and basically validate everything Elder Lyons and the East Coast Brotherhood were saying/doing.)
The east coast brotherhood are dying as well, and for no reason. Why protect civilians from a contrived threat? And in a place where there are no people? The CHICAGO brotherhood is correct, but the east coast one is just contrived and nonsensical.
I hardly call the Super Mutants and Enclave a "contrived" threat.

The question is "Which Fallout faction is best for humanity?" not "Which Fallout faction is best governing body?"

Whatchu talkin' bout, Willis? Obviously it's the Followers of the Apocalypse. They're dedicated to helping everyone.
exactally

however like I said, while they do alot of good work, they dont have the means to "take over" or fix everyones problems

I mean really at their core alot of them could be good,(NOT the legion) like the brotherhood or NCR however, liek real life theres no black or white..all of them have faults and you end up screwing over somone

I would say NCR they definetly seem less likley to collapse (unlike the legion) I did however go independant because it seemed the best for everyone...even the NCR

it also eliminates women's rights and supports slavery,so no it isn't the best.

OT:the enclave was gone since FO2(the ones in 3 were remnants)the BOS is a bunch of selfish tech whores, the NCR will only hold things up for so long, the followers don't have the means to run things, house it pretty much the same as things are,and the courier can't run things cause they are only one person,as for the vault dweller(FO1) and chosen one(FO2)'s tribe has not been heard from in a while nor could that family really help that much, however i do not know about the other branches of each faction.

...Are you claiming Caesar's legion doesn't strip away human rights? Because if you are, you really need to play that game again. :p
Never did I mention anything about human rights. I think you quoted me, when you meant to quote someone else.
Well, since the guy was stating that Caesar's Legion was bringing everyone away from modern tech and taking away rights and you seemed to oppose that idea, I assumed that's what you meant. Sorry if I was wrong!

It's not "which Fallout faction would work the coolest in a perfect world where humanity was naturally good", either. Having the Red Cross be in the seat of power would be pretty sweet, but I don't think humanity could control itself under that rule.

dont let the whole "roman" facade fool you, Ceasar was just like any other wasteland raider warlord, he just added a little mangled latin to it, its pretty obviou his little manchild world he created for himself would collapse without him

and the whole "only the strong will survive" thing...the power of the NCR and the inevitible downfall of the Brotherhood disporve that one pretty quickley, also other towns are still surviving....just as they always do

and slavery?...fuck that....seriously fuck that..

Whoever voted for the Brotherhood of Steel knows nothing about Fallout canon. The BoS in Fallout 3 is an exception to the rule. The actual BoS is better represented by the Outcasts and the BoS in New Vegas. They don't care about people - they just want to hoard technology.

NCR, corrupt and abusive it may be at times, is easily the best faction for humanity. They have two things going for them over everyone else - they don't want to kill/eat/torture you, and they have the power to actually accomplish something.

you should keep in mind however, that after the events of fallout 3 (including broken steel) and the involvment of the lone wander they are probably doing alot better than when you first encountered them

plus there seems to be alot of them and they actually recruit people

also the brother hood in NV cleary shows that being dicks if you dont get your way isnt the best way to go..as for the outcasts? not sure how they will fare....probably keep on going how they are since theres no NCR there to get in the way

Followers or NCR. Anarchy would get us nowhere and the others aren't prepared or don't even care about restarting civilization
