Optimist and realist. I don't have unrealistic expectations of grandeur of the events unfolding before me and I can focus on the positive side of anything.

Gotcha, didn't realize that that's how you meant it. *nod* I can see your point when you bring it to the extreme ends of the spectrum. Then again, extremes are never good. =)

Pessimist.
I face the reality of life: That it's an unfair and unkind place that will only get worse as you go on. And then you die.

EDIT: But I'm also a Realist: You prepare for the worst but hope for the best.
Life is full of surprises, it advertises nothing.

EDIT: Cookie to whoever gets the reference.
The thing about being a pessimist is that whenever something good does happen, you're extra suprised and extra excited.

For me I like to meet both at least half way, but really I accept reality yet I tend to question why things are as they are making me human, so if your just a pesimist or a optimist then what does that make you, an alien?

(no pun intended toward ph3onix, he has a nice avatar.)

So you're only happy when something good happens whereas an optimist is positive all the time?

I am a fatalistic optimist. I know life kinda sux sometimes, that there is a lot of things we cannot control. but I know that the one thing we can control is ourselves, our reaction to the world at large. thus I am an optimist.
Shalom, brothers.

Yes, I can accept when bad things happen, but can be thoroughly excited when something great happens to me.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a floating pile of angst who goes around stuffed with razor blades and quoting meaningless poetry thats so obscure even the author who wrote it hasn't heard of it. But I have come to accept the fact that life is an unfriendly place.
But being a pessimist doesen't mean you can't be happy, It just means you're prone to preparing for the worst.

Neutralist. You've got some bad shit and you've got some good shit, and the balance between those 2 fluctuates constantly. Sadly, the bad shit is (at the moment) putting way more in my scale of life than the good shit, but that might change. I don't think it will change soon though, I'm also a realist.

More optimist than pessimist, but I'm closer to the middle than anything. (If you ask me whether the glass is half full or half emtpy, I will judge it on whether it was filled or emptied to half-way.)

Usually a pessimist, but I have an optimistic side. Ironically that only comes out when I get really depressed, whereas the happier I get the more pessimistic I become. Probably because I expect my happiness to end soon. Which it usually does.

I'm a helpless optimist who always thinks the best of people, regardless of what they say or do. I just think you all need an appropriate amount of hugs to be happy.
