I would have to choose the Adeptus Mechanicus. They have the most relevant discipline among the foolish Mon'Keigh

Mechanicus.

If not a tech-priest (Oh, look at this new tech I just "found"), then Skitarii.

Part IG, part cyborg, all badass.

Those are gorgeous, what were they originally?
Not a clue, they're not mine.

At a guess, some cadian guardsmen, with iron hands marine stuff and green stuff.

BUT I'm a girl, I would guess that would mean Adeptus Sororitas for me
anyway there both pretty intresting.
(are there tech-priestesses)
Yes, the Ciaphas Cain novel Death or Glory have a young female Engineseer by the name of Felicia that makes a comeback in Cain's Last Stand, where she have advanced to the rank of Magos and are the boss of all the cogboys on the planet.

Anyway, for my part I'd pick Inquisition, Ordo Xenos.
Or if I were allowed, a Rogue Trader. They aren't really part of the Imperium as the name implies though.

Inquisition.

If you read Dark Heresy, you'll see it's the best job.

Literally get to snooze around all day, getting your acyolates to do all the work.

I'm surprise that the Adeptus Mechanicus is in the lead so far. Glad to see more fans of them xD

I choose defecting to the Tau.

I can live with being a second class citizen if it means I stand a good chance of surviving more than fifty years without getting caught in a Chaos raid, a Hive Fleet, a WAAAUUUGGGHHH!, an Inquisition investigation or worst of all, Imperial recruitment.
If you bow down to the Etherals like the Tau, you can live as an equal, says so in the codex.
(Someday when I have the time and funds, I'm going to make a tau army consiting entierly from defected Imperial Guard with Tau weaponry.)

I would so want to serve in the fire caste in Shadowsun's army, probably in a Stealth suit, or as a Pathfinder.

I'd have to say Astrates, I know what happens to guardsmen and regular humans; they get killed like its going out of fashion. Plus if I go traitor I'm a superhuman

Dunno. You see, Eldar have always been my army of choice. If I had to pick I'd say Inquisition, probably. They're quite badass and it's relatively cushy compared to being a guardsman. But defecting to the Tau seems much more appealling.
