Wow, strange that working class has a smaller population here when they take up more of the world.
I'm working class (born into) but I'm working my way outta it (or hope to).
(I'm not trying to sound rude, sorry if I offend anyone!)
I figure it is because most working class people are either working, not using a computer or are at school.

I was born into the middle class, my dad was an engineer with the state and my mother was a highschool teacher. I think they've graduated into upper middle class seeing how my mom started rising in the ranks as a social servant and now has a pretty hoighty toighty job.

Me, however, I'm underclass 9 months out of the year, being a student who's sponsored fully by the Norwegian government, and lower working class 3 months out of the year when I work as unskilled labour. I do allright.

I don't think you're being rude, but it's highly improbable that people from working class homes aren't using computers. Chances are higher that they simply don't frequent gamer-community websites like The Escapist. I'm not saying that kids from working class homes don't play videogames, but they may not have as much free time to obsess over it as people from middle class and upper middle class homes.

Edit: Ech, doublepost, but at least it was on topic.

Lower Middle Class I believe.
Have what I need, can get what I want.

And for those of you who are in "Underclass".
You still are in the 8% richest of the world.

Upper Middle class i would have voted for that but you forgot to include it as an option.
I can see it as an option?
I cant all I can see is Lower Middle Class and then working class nothing between on the vote bit. He does have it down on the OP.
Do you mean Upper Working Class? You said Middle/b], but 'Working' is the one I don't see on the poll.

Yes thats what I ment and yet again my disability to communicate my ideas properly strikes again.

Yeah, I didn't quite mean they don't have computer or don't have access, I meant because they weren't using computers ATM because they were busy doing other things. I would be surprised if kids didn't play video games at all, even in lower class households. (I'm talking about America, I can't speak for other places)

Lower middle class.... but I guess in my mind I'm in the middle to upper classes of society.

This is completely true, we really don't understand how lucky we are to be born within the Western world.

Ah yes because the working class should never relax.
What next boss, want me to shine your shoes boss, oh yes sir, yes sir. Thankyou very much sir. Thanks for the nickel, I'm going home to sleep on the floor and spend all my money on drugs.
Perhaps you miss understand working class, upper class does not become working class when they go to work. This was all cleared up in the OP's post.
I think you slightly misunderstood me... I'm not even sure where to start, but I think I catch your point.

I was born into lower middle class, but my parents are awesome and we're upper middle class now.

I think the results of the poll aren't that surprising. Middle class people play games. Dhurr...

I wouldn't say I 'where' born into any social class. ;-)

On a more serious note, I was born to parents who are both working class, with working class incomes, but we live a middle-class life: own our own home in the country, a large garden, et cetera, et cetera.

I'm not sure, none of my parents wealth was inherited but I still went to a public school and a very good University. So am I Upper Class or Middle class?

I think I'm from upper working class/working class.

Classes suck, by the way. (Captain Obvious to the rescue!)

In between upper middle class and middle class maybe? My dad worked in the Royal Opera House in London and we owned a house there, I'm pretty sure we had a lot of money.

Born into the Lower middle class, but at 12, moved up to middle class when my dad became a consultant for his own company working on the rigs.

Born to the underclass i suppose as my mother raised us by herself and relied on benefits and childminding for income, our fatehr was a painter decorater but lived elsewhere but we saw him evert weekend and im fairly sure he threw some moneis our way. I am middle class now as mum got a teaching degree and is in full time work and she married a full time teacher.

Did you really need to remind me that I went from potentially living in the family mansion to having to worry about student loans...
But, you know, I'm still me, dispite the fact that so much of the wealth was taken by a man who had my grandmother change her will when she had cancer in her brain, and then my father literally going through millions of dollars, selling the family farm...
And I'm almost certain he sold my great grandmother's ring...

You know what? Screw this angst-ing. I'm going to go work on my portfolio for grad school. The future's more important!
