Yes, he IS a vampire. Rachel made him so. A vampiric big-sword guy with Dante's style of attire, an attitude that can be equal-parts awesome and hilarious, who was trained by the most powerful being in the world. Ragna is a man who rolls with the bad luck his life gets as best he can, which includes being Wanted like Vash The Stampede, by the way. Ragna wouldn't think twice about sacrificing his arm to save someone. Of course, some would say he wasn't thinking at all, but still...is that awesome or what?

They have three courts of vampires:
The Red Court: Vampires that feed on blood but don't have the weaknesses you usually associate with vampires... They're disgusting creatures that can take on "flesh masks" to hide their gross features. To kill them, you have to get them out of their flesh masks and shoot them in the belly which contains blood. When it runs out, they die.
The White Court: Vampires that are more human than the others. They feed on life energy. They're kind of like the Twilight ones in a way, except being fed on by one can make you its slave and whenever they feed on you, they take some of your life away.
The Black Court: The most mysterious and stereotypical. In the books, Bram Stoker was paid by the Wizard's council to write Dracula as a manual for killing Black Court vampires.

um... i'd say for me, personally, it's probrably a tie between Bram Stoker's Dracula (there are no others) and the vampires from 30 days of night (no messing around, THEY'RE HERE TO FUCKING KILL YOU. PERIOD.)
Huh... You know, I don't really know about many vampires. I guess I could go with Thomas Raith from the Dresden Files. He's pretty cool, he has a hummer, and gets laid every night and all that. Plus, he can kickass. But he's not really that AWESOME... meh, I'll just go with him.
lestat, basically because he really enjoys life (unlife?). Reading the vampire chronicles feels like being a super powered blood drinking monster and loving every minute.

OT: Alucard. I don't care what you say about the original Dracula, he may have been frightening, or even cool then, but he really isn't now. Utterly generic at this point, which, is almost ironic to say.
