Maybe the next time you think about making a thread, don't.

Also, following your brilliant thinking, about 90% of the people who posted are old.

Any other bright ideas you would like to share?

This is the first I'm hearing about how people don't. It's much easier to simply look at my wrist than it is to fumble around for my mobile phone; especially when it's in my jean's pocket.
It's a good looking watch as well.

"Wrist watches" sound retro. I have a digital watch, yeah, but I don't go around calling it a "wrist watch". "Watch" is fine.
Everyone here uses them - analogue or digital - even though they all have phones as well.

My watch is just a little Timex that used to belong to my mom. It lasted 10 years for her and I've had it for over 5 myself whereas I've gone through several cell phones in that same 5 years. Whenever I leave the house without it I feel extremely off balance. Also, I work in a dirty job and I don't feel like ruining my cell phone by having it on me while I'm working.

Once I can find a decent, durable wristwatch, I'll buy and wear one. Until then... well. My phone is like a computer for a reason.

I've worn a wrist watch since I was about 10 and still do... I feel utterly naked without it.

My last one died a horrible, painful death from age, so I now have a silver bangle watch with crystals in it. It doesn't go with everything I wear, but I have to have it on nonetheless.

I still wear one, though I stopped wearing it everyday as if I didn't have it on I felt as if my hand was missing.

As long as I wear my U-Boat Left Hook Automatic, watches will never go out of style:

I've been thinking about getting this watch for sometime now, http://tinyurl.com/6fjqkas

The ease of just glancing at my wrist for the time and not having to worry about battery life is tempting, and I think it looks excellent.

I was reminded of this watching the LRR about synchronizing time. Why would people even wear these things? They look and feel as outdated as a 'cell phone' the size of a toaster.

Conclusion: Old people are the only ones who wear wrist watches.

Edit: It ate my poll, oh well.
People with style wear watches, a nice watch can be a great compliment to an outfit also, women actually prefer men who wear watches.

I do, and even feel a bit naked without it.

Mechanical, self-winding, analog (obviously). It's not the most accurate, but I like the feeling of having time on my hand. ;)

Your conclusion is that of a child. Who's got time to get their phone out of their pocket every time they want to check the time? Also a watch is a piece of jewellery, and while you're welcome to believe that "They look and feel as outdated as a 'cell phone' the size of a toaster" there are an awful lot of people who disagree with you.

Runners, divers, climbers, and basically anyone who needs to know time and for whom a fragile phone and short battery life are problems.

But in the normal world, the only people who wear them anymore are the same folks who are prone to spend $600+ on a watch anyway - it's a fashion accessory and meant to show off.
