I disagree with Azathoth's platform on atomic bonds. Specifically, It's against them. I would rather be driven mindless than disintegrated. Cthulhu at least has a consciousness, as far as we can understand it. But the term evil is just so woefully inadequate in this discussion. Cthulhu is subordinate to a whole host of abomination-gods, which is the only reason Cthulhu even notices us.
