Geth, hands down. Anyone who says otherwise has no clue what they're talking about. The Geth are synthetics, non-biological being at most with slight biological attachments for efficiency with thought processes, reflexes, flexibility or the like. The Flood NEED lifeforms of complexity. Lesser creatures (small mammals, insects, etc.) are immune from infection. If it was just Geth vs Flood and the Flood had no fuel, all the Geth would have is an annoying cockroach problem.
Yep. Unless... Flood + Krogan = uber creature.

O_O

I want to see that happen. Now.

Anything from the Warhammer 40k universe would absolutley obliterate either the Geth or the Flood.

I mean, Space Marines are 8 foot tall superhuman men dressed in near invincible power armour and armed with what is effectively a more powerful version of the Lancer from Gears of War.

Then there are Necrons who are an army of metallic skeletons that can come back to life after they have been killed.

Tyranids are an army of vicious lizard like creatures that just devour anything in their path.

There are about 7 more different armys that could obliterate the Geth or Flood.

But, out of the Geth and Flood i would say the Geth.

I'm gonna go wtih Geth. The flood needs an organic lifeform to dominate in order to be much more than a easter egg with tentacles. And seeing as the Geth are synthetic lifeforms. . .not much for the flood to work with. Oh plus I think a Geth Colossus could beat the living crap out of any flood that came after it

To those who say that people are underestimating the Flood, yes they are correct. With the current knowledge of both parties, it's pretty clear that the Geth would lose, simply because of numbers if not intelligence, tactics, or weaponry.

The problem I find with this is that the Flood, and the Halo universe, have had a lot more material released on them. Halo has had 4 games with another planned and five novels, whereas Mass Effect spans 1 game with another in production and two novels.

So right now, the Flood win. But I wouldn't discount anything from the Mass Effect universe yet, because we haven't seen it all.

Geth. They're mechanical, and thus immune to the Flood's greatest weapon: conversion.
Yep. It seems like people still don't understand the Flood. *facepalm* Just read my previous posts.

I like the Flooplicatorg thread more. Here there is just too many people who don't really understand the Flood (or events in the Halo universe really). Let me put it this way:

The Flood would be the scourge of the Mass Effect universe, even the Reapers would fear them (regard them seriously at least, can't really tell as not much is known about the Reapers).

The Geth would form a new faction in the Halo universe, maybe a problem for the UNSC but nothing to seriously concern the Sangheili or even the remnants of the Covenant.

Not exactly the question at hand but representative enough I think. The Flood is stronger than the Geth and smarter than the Geth, the Geth can build faster but the Flood can conquer faster. Unless a specific situation is set up the victor is impossible to determine but as gunluva said in most cases the Flood comes out on top.

I would normally pick the flood hands down, but it just has to be the geth. Being synthetics they cannot be taken over by the flood. Seeing as how the flood do not use shields the weapons woud rip them apart. And even if the flood could take control of a planet from the geth. The geth could easily come in spaceships and bomb the hell out of the place. The flood would be unable to mount any real defense as the flood aren't skilled enough to fly spaceships properly.

flood can't convert Geth but even with no need to evolve (due to the fact that they have their pick of races in the halo universe) the flood still made a creature that can evolve from mobile creature too either a long range shooter or a armored juggernaut and back, just think of what they could do when they can't convert and evolving is more than a hobby.

I pick the Geth. And I can't help but be surprised no one (that I know of) has mentioned the Geth's ability to convert organics to Husks, which can be annoying bastards in greater numbers.

The Flood. The Geth can't even manage to be a serious threat without the assistance of the Reapers and a spectacularly dishonest Turian.

Nothing can destroy the flood except for mass detruction of everything. They are impossible to completely destroy. Even Master Chief can't beat the flood, he had to light the Halo ring.

Flood, several reasons; firstly gravemind, secondly ship fighting precision, thirdly the geth were epic fail-tards incaple of inflicting harm with any kind of efficiency. Oh and the Gravemind would probably just assimilate the Quarians giving them the information to take the geth apart completely.
Ehhh... people are seriously underestimating the Geth. Yes, in the game they were about as threatening as those stupid droids from that god awful star wars film but thats because you were essentially Rambo in that game and were able to kill wave after wave of them without breaking a sweat. I think the Geth could quite happily annihilate any Flood that got close with their weapons.

I reckon the Flood would win, grave mind can manipulate machines (i'm assuming since we're talking about two races that got wiped out that everything is alive again) and as far as i am aware they is more than one grave mind or grave mind like creature. The flood can disable machinery if it gets in close contact (you know rip it apart from the inside) and they can infect more than just humans and aliens, any organic tissue can be turned into flood. The flood are never ending, the flood true form can spew out infection forms and the flood transformation is almost instantaneous, even if the geth managed to destroy all organic life they'd still have to deal with an infinite amount of infection forms.

The Geth are robotic and require production to be made, once the flood destroy their production lines, it's bye bye to the geth, they are much much much less numerous than flood and would feel that disadvantage very quickly when the flood starts hitting in melee combat. Even with the Geth's ranged weapons, the flood can still use ranged weapons and again there are more, so the flood win on all fronts.

The geth know how to use cover, the flood only know how to run into your gunsights.
