I taught myself the moonwalk after Jackson's death, so that had at least some effect on me.

It's hard for me to care about people who I've never met, but I'll take a live Carlin over a live MJ any day.

Who the hell picked Michael Jackson over George Carlin
Edited for minimized troll.
But I must agree with this statement. Most people celebrated George Carlin when he was still alive. A month ago, we (the media, everybody) would still be calling MJ "Wacko Jacko". Now it seems like they want to get him canonized. If everyone loves him so much now, why did nobody appreciate him when he was alive?

I voted MJ because I have never heard of George Carlin
But I didn't mourn his passing either. I was sadder when Billy Mays died

Michael Jackson, I haven't seen much of George Carlin to be honest.

The man was simply a legend. How many people can you say have been active and had hits in each decade since they started their career? The man set crowds ablaze with his singing and dancing (granted, he sort of stole the moonwalk from Billy Ocean and James Brown) and everybody on this earth knew who he was.

This. Seriously, as great a comedian as he was Carlin's death didn't get to me, and Michael Jackson was essentially dead after the child molestation allegations (in this nation, we don't take to pedophilia lightly). Billy's, on the other hand, was the loss of a great man. If heaven exists, Billy, get god to strike down the Shamwow guy or something like that.

if i may ask... who is George Carlin ?...
A stand up comedian who made many good points. But to me, he was always RUFUS! *air guitars*
Been on two nights in a row in my house! *air guitars*

OT, Michael purely because I actually knew who he was before his death.
Bill and Ted fans. Excellent!
The Circle K they shot it at is 15 minutes from my house.

Never heard of George Carlin; on the other hand I loved MJ mostly as a person but also as an amazing performer.
