Same, and The Guy that plays Sylar off of Heroes.SenseOfTumour said:It's got Simon Pegg on board, I don't even like Star Trek and I'm considering watching this!
The only reason I would consider watching it.Vanguard1219 said:And to repeat: Simon Pegg is Scotty.
I feel the same way. I especially don't like the youth of the actors and the way it seems like they're trying too hard.spiggy said:I think it's impressive just how much WTF they cram into such a short ad.
Why is little Jimmy Kirk driving a 1960s-ish Corvette?
Why is little Jimmy Kirk driving a 1960s-ish Corvette off a cliff?
So are they implying that James Kirk was a retard as a child?
Who the heck is that robot guy?
Why are they building the Enterprise on the surface of the planet?
Why would Starfleet give command of their newest and most advanced ship to a 20 year old with no command experience?
Why is no one on the Enterprise over the age of 25?
Was that supposed to be Scotty?
Was that Swirly Light (TM) around Young Spock (TM) supposed to be the new transporter?
Did he just mention Cylons?
If they changed everything else, why did they keep the cheesy uniforms?
You can practically hear the director yelling in the background: More youthful! More Energy! More Youthful Energy (TM)! We have to make this movie appeal more to the younger generation! Let's have Kirk and Spock fight. BSG is popular, let's mention Cylons even though that show would be hundreds of years old by the time this is supposed to take place. Motorcycles are popular with youth, let's add some of those. Youth! Youth goddamn it, we need more Youth!

Why is little Jimmy Kirk driving a 1960s-ish Corvette off a cliff? (What raised platform would you prefer he drive the car off of?)
So are they implying that James Kirk was a retard as a child? (I think they try to imply that about all idols from great series... Darth Vader anyone?)
Who the heck is that robot guy? (Judging from the sirens... I'd say a police officer... or a platypus...)
Why are they building the Enterprise on the surface of the planet? (Because building it underneath the planet's crust makes space travel a little more difficult that you'd probably think)
Why would Starfleet give command of their newest and most advanced ship to a 20 year old with no command experience? (They do show an older gentleman in the clip... watch it slow to see him... who I believe to be in command. This is probably none other than Captain Pike who was the ORIGINAL star ship enterprise captain. They might change canon in this one to make him die or something to give a valid reason ensigns could command the ship... or they didn't put the academy years in the trailer. It is a well known fact that Kirk held the record for youngest officer to make captain in the Star Trek universe, so maybe this will explain a little of that.)
Why is no one on the Enterprise over the age of 25? (I would think that in the future they can make us look awesome at 73.)
Was that supposed to be Scotty? (That was my first question when I saw the trailer. I suppose so. He doesn't seem to be a commissioned officer, so how'd he get to be chief engineer?)
Was that Swirly Light (TM) around Young Spock (TM) supposed to be the new transporter? (yes)
Did he just mention Cylons? (WTF??)
If they changed everything else, why did they keep the cheesy uniforms? (Uniforms looked kinda different, and fanboys would poop their seats if it changed...)
Essentially, yes.Frybird said:Wait, is that one of these "Daniel Craig is not James Bond" Things?
