Only if I hear it's good, and then I'd probably only rent it. If it was amazing when I rented it then I'd buy it. Anything less I don't give a fudge and would never play it again.

What no maybe? Nothing is set in stone and it completely depends on how it does or if i have money at the time.

Nah, DNF is going to have to wait in line. I've still gotta play COD:Black Ops, Dead Space 2, Portal 2, and Half Life 2 Episode Three.

In a way, I'm hoping that DNF isn't all that great. If it's a god among games, then my fear is that some companies will try to emulate 3D Realms and I don't feel like waiting 13 years for my next videogame.

Yup. Don't care about all the negative hype it gets now that it's been delayed so long.

It's odd, most games get good hype, and never live up to it. This game has tons of negative hype, and will probably surpass it to become as good as the general population of games that are out.

ALWAYS bet on Duke.

Of course I'll buy DNF. I've been waiting 13 years.

It's certainly not going to stop me buying and playing other games, but I want it. If there's a collector's edition I'll have it.

I don't understand why people are saying "No, I won't buy DNF because I'm buying $other_game."

I understand budget concerns, I know what it's like to only be able to afford one or two games a year. I know what it's like to be able to afford no new games in a year. But I somehow doubt this is the only justification for people passing over DNF in favour of, for instance, Black Ops or New Vegas.

Wow, its a pure 50-50 split never thought I'd see that again.

Anyway, as of now no, no I won't. I don't have enough money for more games at the moment (being unemployed does that to ya) and I don't have that much love invested in the character, having only played Land of the Babes on the PSOne a few years back. If I find money and get enough info I might get it but as of now no.

Ever since it's been announced that the game is finally coming out it's the center of most discussions. I talked about it with a friend, and he asked me that question, to which I replied "Always bet on Duke!". He'll get it too for the sheer epicness of something coming back after 12 years. What will you do?

Edit: Piracy is not an option and will not be accepted by this site ~Mod
Can you add a "I'll rent it" option?

There is no DNF.

As much as they say there is... sorry... unless it is on the shelf it will never be made and is not in the process of being made. You can only take a scam so far.

And not up for stupid comments about my thoughts... seriously when I see it at best buy THEN it exists.

Besides FPS like duke were big 15 years ago... doubt the public nor the game has evolved to anything amazing. Show me a product, show me some reviews and I MIGHT buy it.

But like diablo 3. I wanted these sequels ten plus years ago...now... they are just barely a 9volt trying to start the heart of a dead time in gaming.
Thank You Sir you have said it best! Seriously, no more teaser trailers, no more sneak peak play thrus with this person or that person "Yeah I play it! It exists, Duke Nukem lives!!", just get it done Gearbox! We (whatever remaining Nukem fans) Have gone thru years with the BS. Make it release it , and just maybe just maybe we might really bet on Duke again.

It's an interesting concept (And I never really played Duke). Interesting insofar as absolutely distilled, stupid mayhem. But sometimes, that's a good thing. More importantly, Gearbox has never done me wrong. Lets be honest, there is no magical voodoo working against the Duke. The people developing the game were idiots, and Gearbox is not made up of idiots.

I won't pre-order it or anything. If it gets terrible reviews from people who don't care about expectation and want to give it terrible reviews out of spite, I won't buy it. If it gets decent reviews, Ill play it when it gets cheap. If it gets quite good to excellent reviews, it depends on what other games Im paying. I might, on the off chance, buy at at full price fairly early if Im jonesing for a mindless shooter, or more likely Ill buy it when the price first drops, or the first sale.

No. The game is way out of its time frame. Unless the game actually manages to get some amazing reviews (I'm thinking 90+ on Metacritic), in which case I'll consider buying it.

I haven't really decided, it would kind of ruin all the fun and the status that has been made about the game over the years. People have been waiting for it for so long that when it finally gets here it won't be as good and would kind of destroy my mentality of the game. bleh thats really badly worded

I'll have to get my hands on a demo first. Sounds like my kind of shooter: just balls to the wall insanity and it not taking itself too seriously.

Good times. :)

If it's well received critically and to lesser extent by the consumer (since the consumer keeps CoD and FIFA alive, which dampens their opinions) and then the price comes to a £25 mark, I don't see why not.

As long as I have New Vegas, BulletStorm, GT5 and Castlevania first.

yes
i will definitely by it, i want to play a FPS who isn't afraid to "break the rules"
the Duke Nukem franchise is all about crazy guns, and blasting aliens, not marching US marines through boring jungle and desert environments

Wow, the Escapist is refusing to even allow opinions that counter its hard-assed view on Piracy. Classy, folks.

OT: Nah, it's probably not going to be very good.
Gearbox/Take-Two might want to buy advertising space here in the future. Why would they do that if 50% of Escapists have openly admitted they're going to play it without paying for it?
