Well... the only game of the whole series that i have played was IV, and i found it incredibly fun and at the same time really overwhelming

and one of the things that i noticed is that it was still buggy (i bought it a week ago!), and so i knew why Bethesda had made themselves a name of doing buggy games

now i see this announcement, and read the people commenting about it here on the escapist, and it led me to research more, which showed me that there has not being ONE game in the whole series that Bethesda has made without a bug on launch day!!

after the whole F:NV Fiasco, i find myself compelled to think i will not buy this game, not untill a few years have passed and it will reach the status of "Buggy" and not "broken" like its predecesors (from what i read, the first 3 installments where unfinishable and the others where really messed up)

now i ask you escapsts, should this attitude be rewarded?? or should we try and get as manypeople to not buy the game at launch??... i know this is false hope and wishfull thinking, but wouldnt it be nice if they relized that a "Broken" product is not a "finished" product??

so what say you my friends, what will you do??

EDIT: damn... the poll got suckered

If you want games without bugs you might as well take up boardgames because there's no such thing as bug free software.

I don't know.

I might pre-order it, but I'm not sure.
If I don't pre-order it or buy it on launch day, I'll probably get it a little bit after launch day.

It's coming out in a year. November of 2011, right? Why don't you wait a while before making this kind of thread?

On topic, I don't know. I'd like to play Oblivion first and see if I like that.

Boardgames do have bugs, typicly happens when you get a infinite loop situation, luckily, with board games, you can just make up a patch on the spot.

What the fuck? How can you say you don't like a game, when all you'vee seen of it is a teaser that showed none of the game whatsoever?

maybe we should wait until we see some gameplay footage of it before we decide if we want it or not?

It's set in the Land of the nords which is the race I always play as because I'm of Nordic descent.

No I'm not racist! It's an immersion thing.

I'll preorder it for PC, 360, and PS3. I'm going to get 3 copies, you hear me!

My PC won't run the damn thing, but I don't fucking care!

I'm probably get one of them as collector's edition.

You guys do realize that Fallout: New Vegas was developed by Obsidian and not Bethesda right? Bethesda was just one of the publishers, so none of the issues any of you had with F:NV are applicable, however the elder scrolls series hasn't exactly been bug free.

That being said Morrowind had way more bugs than Oblivion and is still one of my favorite games of all time. I'll definitely be buying the 5th installment, hoping they go back more to the morrowind style rather than sticking with the much less deep playstyle, questing, difficulty, story and skillset that was in Oblivion. Yet another series hurt by trying to appeal to multi-platform audiences, just my opinion though.

ok, my bad, i might be overlydramatic

but one has to think if its "OK" to play a "not so polished game" with bugs that go from "crashing" to "quest wrong messages" than to play a more trourough game that had minor bugs.

I might buy two copies at launch. One for the PC and one for the Xbox. The PC one will be the collectors for sure, and I might get a normal copy for my 360 so I can get achievements.

Or I might hold off to get my 360 copy when the GotY comes out. I'm not sure yet, but what I do know is that I need both.

I'm probably going to get it for Christmas, but I'm honestly going to need more information. All we know about the game is the setting and the general plot.
