Passing a kidney stone hurts like hell, I know this from experience and I'll do everything I can to prevent it from ever happening again. Seriously, it felt like pissing out a watermelon even though it was only about the size of a .177 cal BB.

I was pondering this for a while, which is why the limited time rule is in the original OP. While mental/psychological/emotional pain CAN be devastating, there's very few pains that can literally knock you out from the intensity; so I made the poll from those.

Physical does wear off - but it's the moment of intensity rather than the overall.
Psychological damage can be incredibly intense for moments of time. Hysteria is well known for it's moments of intense psychical ailments and then fading away.

Out of those, definitely a migraine. I just spent that day sitting in my room with the curtains shut, holding my face and drinking room temperature water.

The worst pain I've experienced was when I sliced my hand up really bad. Not the slice itself, I was really drunk at the time and didn't really notice, but later, in hospital. Mostly when they started to give me stitches without any anesthetic (due to the alcohol in my system or something). Yikes. I was shaking from the pain, and it was the most encompassing feelings I've ever had. Everything was just sharp, intense pain, focused all on the one point. Now, this wasn't a light cut or gash on the finger we're talking about. I cut my index finger so deep it severed both tendons, and scratched the bone. My index, middle and ring finger on my right hand looked like something you would see in a gore thread on /b/. It hurt nearly as much when they took them out the next day (stone sober), but it didn't quite reach that point.

Dry sockets fucking suck.

Also getting tazed and pepper-sprayed wasn't that great either.

I picked dislocation.

The dislocating part itself is relativley harmless in comparison to other things, but the single most painful experience in my life was when the doctor set a finger back in place. It was a compound "boxer's fracture", the bones in the pinky and palm were basically shattered, and the pinky itself hung limply to the side of the hand. The moment the doc grabbed it and started twisting and pushing it into place my world was filled with bursting lights and darkness and all I heard was a brain shattering high pitched tone. I didn't pass out entirley, but I was aware of nothing but the pain and sound. When I came to a minute or 2 later I was curled up on the floor in a puddle of vomit.

I dunno exactly why it hurt so bad. I've broken 3 other bones (forearm, shin, another finger) in my life, dilocated 2 other fingers and a toe, and had about 5 other major injuries, and none of it came even remotley close to that one damned pinky being set into place.

I have the good fortune to be quite tolerant of pain, I've had broken bones, a trapped nerve in the lumbar region of my spine, four permanent teeth removed, various illness' plus god knows what else. The things I dread however are migraines I fortunatly haven't had one in a while but they are so far the only things that have had me lying in bed in the dark, throwing up from the pain, moaning.

I've had people walking around saying oh I think I have a migraine but this is disproved by the fact that they are walking, talking and apparently able to think. The thrust of my post is that there is a very real difference between a migraine and a bad headache, now to go stay hydrated and get plenty of sleep lest they stike again. o.o;

I spent 8 months with a ventral hernia I couldn't get fixed, which eventual grew to a hole in my abs the size of a melon. I had to actually keep my stomach (the organ) strapped in, as it kept passing through the hernia. Although the surgery which eventually resulted in that hernia was probably the most painful thing I've ever endured, the hernia and how long I had it was likely the most agonizing.

I would sy groin is pretty bad, I had a migraine, and brain freeze. But kidney stones would probably be the worst, hope that doesnt happen to me.

Yesterday I accidentally pressed down on searing hot coal with my hand for a full second. This poll needs burn wounds, I'd pick it.

Worst pain I ever felt was being shot in the eye with a paintball, longest lasting as well. Even being lit on fire several times isn't as bad. Running on broken legs (hairline fracture) while carrying 50lbs. of equipment, armor, and weapons isn't fun either, though it's only a close second.

I googled for pain scale a while back, and throat cancer topped the list of possible human pain. (It was a medical research paper, not some random opinion.)

I've never experienced a kick to the reproductive quadrant, so I'm going to go with that time I managed to clip my belt buckle onto Mr. Chap. To this day I still have no idea how I managed to do that.
That sounds very painful though.

Worst pains ive felt: Soldering Iron to the Eye, steel toe capped boot to the area most people have taken to calling "Gooch" and getting a nail through my big toe.

I chose other.

There is nothing worse than having a never-ending boner. Yeah hour or two you can survive. But imagine you had it for WEEKS. There is actually a sickness that sadly escapes me in terms of it's name. Basically you have a never-ending "stiff"

I can BET that after 6 hours you will be crawling around in pain. After 2 days you will be unable to stop crying. After a week you'll beg someone to cut it off.
I didn't have that sickness but my friend did, after a week it still didn't stop even though he was on medications for 3 days before that. Basically with every day the terrible unstoppable pain encompasses more and more of your body. At first it's obviously just the genitalia and prostate, than it starts going down to legs (in about a day or two) when legs are covered in pain it starts crawling up. it NEVER stops.

The way doctors stopped it in his cause (since medication was not helping) was setting some blood out of him, After about 1l of blood came out it finally stopped.

Imagine no man wants to suffer such pain.

PS. Biggest pain I personally felt was having falling off a 3'rd flood (through a window) breaking my hand, It seemed ok (my left hand) so I tried getting up and supporting myself with it, for 1 second when I did that I felt like my hand got submerged in lava. for 5 seconds after that I felt like my entire body has been.
Other than that it wasn't that bad, I have quite high tolerance for pain.

Well, worst pain I've ever felt was from my near-death experience. Our apartment caught fire and I inhaled a lot of smoke back then, but that is Smoking HOT (get it?, smoke :p) It felt like my throat was on fire, which might have actually happened now that I think about it. My lungs were also embraced by an unbearable pain.

THAT I never want to experience that again, I'd rather break both of my arms now.
