most likely no because in all likelihood i would not be what they called me. for example if someone were to call me a ***** i wouldnt car because i am obviously not a female dog. another example would be if someone called me a n***r and i wouldnt care because racism is one of the most ignorant things in the world and that just means black in spanish.

Seriously you seem to come up with the funniest shit.

OT: I've got a little phrase that helps me get past crap like that. Screw that noise.

Fuck what other people have to say about you, they can all suck it.

If he pointed it out in a rude or offending manner, he'd hardly be a perfect person, now would he?
indeed. that would only make him a poorly raised hippocrit who doesnt realise that nobody is perfect.

If he points out a fault with me, than he isnt perfect. Not because I dont have faults, but a perfect being would have transcended past the point of finding fault with others.
You make that claim, but you do not explain why. A perfect being according to your statements never points out flaws of others? So, it basically also never deals with interpersonal conflicts, and just ignores them? I'm curious for your reasons how that is supposed to be "perfect".

As for most other replies so far in this thread: It's like someone pushed a button to make people fall back to the most fundamental commandments in their morals. If you're someone who's into studying social stuff, watch this thread for a nice display of what really drives this culture :)

So, if the perfect person didn't like me? I might take a bit of a hit, but that happens everytime. No one is perfect. This guy obviously has no politeness, if he's pointing out my flaws, therefore he is not perfect.
this is a big problem with the OPs question: you could spend hours, if not days, debating what it means for someone to be "perfect".

that being said, if someone "perfect" were to point out my imperfections, why would i care? i'm not striving to be perfect and my imperfections are to some extent what make me, me.

Why would I be offended? I guess I'd be surprised that everyone seems to agree that this one person is perfect, but I don't care what they think of me anyway so I wouldn't think it was a big deal.

Whether somebody's `perfect' or not, they probably have opinions (if they insult me then they definitely have opinions) and I'm perfectly fine if those opinions differ from mine. Does it matter if they insult me? They'll just die soon, like the rest of us. Whining about it won't do shit for me.

I wouldn't care in the slightest. I don't care about most people's opinions nowadays.
Also, why would he be picking out peoples' flaws and expressing it publicly to humiliate me if he was the ultimate human being? Sounds like he'd just be the typical douche, which isn't perfect in any way.

Being offended is prettymuch a kneejerk reaction. I mean this "Mr. Perfect" did just point out a personal flaw. I don't need some random jerk telling me what's wrong with me, even if they are considered the perfect person. That'd be imperfection right there: Not knowing when to keep their mouth shut.

What im getting at is that this perfect being shouldnt be concerned with another persons flaws, as the way I read the OP, this person basically walks up to me and says im imperfect because *reason*. I would think that a perfect being would be accepting of the flaws of others.

Probably. I'd be offended if anyone insulted me, or picked out a flaw in my personality. That sort of thing is offensive, and it would lower my opinion of the person in question, no matter how perfect they may be believed to be.

Whether I'd react to it or be provoked by it is a different story, and the answer to that would be, 'No, unless I'm in a really bad mood already, in which case I tend to have a short temper.'

I would tell her this.

"This isn't a fair fight. You point out a flaw of mine but I can't do the same. I think you are abusing your status a little. That is quite a flaw"

I'd be offended, but I'd laugh it off because if that perfect person were perfect they would know to have more tact than to point out others flaws.

I would then conclude that his/her insulting me would make him imperfect. I would cease to revere such a person if he/she existed.

Perfect is a matter of perspective, therefore this theoretical being cannot exist.

It depends on if that flaw was true or not. If he or she was right then who cares? Everyone is flawed.

I'd probably be ready to go at their neck, assuming it's still there before the perfect being collapses into nothingness (running with my assumption of perfect - everything yet nothing, alive but dead at the same time, here but there, that kind of thing).
