Absolutely not. Even with all the porn, the fetishists, the trolls and the Hentai, the internet still deserves to live. It's a huge depository of information and a gigantic hub of entertainment.
It's an entire digital world. Sure, some parts of it are sick, but other parts are good. You can't destroy an entire world because of some nudity or obscenity, it's just unreasonable.

Oh, I got it I got it! How about we put the good parts of the internet on an ark, then make it rain for forty days and forty nights, and all the filth of the internet shall be washed away!

The "shitting dick-nipples" thing is internetese for the worst of the Internet, supposedly based on a single Gurochan thread from a while ago. It is apparently a real thing, though I've carefully avoided the evidence it exists.

On certain sites and IRC channels, people tend to discuss this sort of "worst of the Internet" thing quite a bit. I've run into these discussions to a minor degree, though I don't take a role in looking for the worst the Web has to offer.

But I would turn off the internet, partly cause I feel it would cause me to live a life(moar social/natural) other than the one i'm addicted to now. Since i'm living this one currently, I'm kinda bored of it and see the appeal of the other one.

...Of course if I was born half a century ago I would probably see the internet as a beautiful place of social wonders unlike anything my generation could of dreamed of... and never go near it and lobby against it because it's destroying our youth...

Clearly you are basing your argument that the internet is inherently bad for reasons that show immense bias. People post those things because it brings them joy. In no way are you FORCED to read or watch or look at those items. The fact of the matter is, that to a lot of people, the internet is a way to socialize(in whatever impersonal way(more bias)) and to express themselves that society would not allow otherwise. Furthermore, if anything, it has allowed for greater communication between people((more bias) however impersonal it may be). Also, the internet itself is not the bad thing, that you presume it is. The internet is merely a series of tubes and wires that transfer data. The data, the intent of the data, the content of the data, and the entity that created and uploaded the data is the bad part. People merely abuse it, so should it be destroyed because the people like to use it? That would be up to you.

No, because those... interesting sites aren't harming anyone. Well, maybe a bit of psychological damage for accidental passers-by, but they aren't proactively aggressive, and getting rid of them would mean an awful lot of collateral damage. Too much.

No, no it hasn't if I had a choice to destroy the internet yes I would be deleting many great things but I would also be erasing atleast 90% of the most disturbing things that have ever been giving life through the internet.

Keep the internet, it's become too integrated to just destroy, the global chaos it would cause is not worth going through. Just ignore all the bad shit and enjoy all the good, but, there are some things I'd get rid of, Viruses, Trojans, Keyloggers, all of those things.

I remember life before this series of tubes, and you know, it wasn't bad. People were more into looking at each other when they socialized, rather than a monitor or a smart phone, listening to music was a more social affair, and pr0n was harder to come by, so it was ergo more taboo and for young men more rewarding when acquired, and it didn't have to be anything nastier than a Playboy. Those were simpler times, better times.

I'd kill it without a second thought.
