I find it funny that all these people who say no, assume that they and or their loved ones would be left out of the war and live normally. You all need to stop assuming life is like video games, people are not penalized for killing civilians in a full scale war, total war is just that, total. They will bomb cities, towns, industrial zones, they will round up non-combatants, put you in camps, or just kill you. One thing is for certain, you sure as hell won't be living as you live now. You remain a threat and an enemy to them, so in effect your best chance of living and living happily is to have your country, whether you like it or not, win the war.
Or just take your family and friends and flee to a country that is not engaged in that war.

And to answer the question: No!
Considering most on these forums are in a country that is a member state of NATO, I really doubt you'd have anywhere worth running.

No due to the fact that this country has given me no reason to defend it, it just keeps fucking over the little people who they make to fight for them.

But yes cause I would get to kill people. OH THE CHOICES!

At the moment my country's being run by a coalition government that I didn't vote for, implementing policies that the voters don't want.

Frankly, the invaders are welcome to it. I suggest Vikings, they could always do with more land.
English re-invasion by the Vikings coming right up. Arise Norway! Arise Sweden! Arise Denmark! Arise Finland! The time to rape and pillage has returned!

I would like to think that I would live for Canada. I would do everything I could to fight and live, not fight and die. You can't defend Canada when you're dead.

No. Reading Johnny Got His Gun showed me that dying in war, isn't a proper death. And death is final and absolute, and chances are, you're going to die.

Life is too precious to me. I'll let the others who are brave and stupid fight these people. I'll just grab my loved ones and leave the country.

In case of war, almost anywhere else is better. And there are countries that are not NATO members, nearby.

No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.

For my country? No. It's just a plot of land.

For the people in that land? Hell yes.
I like this idea. It's akin to supporting the troops, but not the war. My country would actually be improved if another country invaded it. Especially a Western/Northern European one. We have no actually concept of the freedom that we fought so hard to achieve. What really pisses me off is the abuse of the Bill of Rights (few people really understand what the second amendment is for) and how easily manipulated the populous is.

Would I die for this country? That's a defeatist mentality. The point is not to die for your country. The point is to make the enemy die for his.

I would fight and die for my people, not my country or its government.

I am not proud to be a U.S. citizen.

No fucking way. Why should I tbh when the politicians are so corupt and have already sent many young people to their deaths for nothing.

and yes, I have served many years serving my country which in hindsight goes against my views now.

Not for my country. I'd only die for mine if the enemy was more oppressive that the current government. Which, at least in the US, no government could be worse, save North Korea's.

I would not die for my country. The people here have no understanding of Socialism, but still demonize it. Despite our claims at being secular we still freak out if there is some accusation that somebody running for high office might theoretically, potentially, follow a religion other than Christianity.

If we were invaded, I would go to Canada.
If you came to Denmark id have an open door... ^^
Well, that would be further away from the war if the US was invaded.

No, I hate my government right now because of all the Communist Liberals that are in charge of it.
You realize that it is absolutely impossible for someone to be simultaneously both a Communist and a Liberal right?

Liberalism is a Capitalist ideology (alongside Conservatism and Libertarianism), whereas Communism is about as anti-Capitalist as you can get.

I will fight to protect the people and soul of Canada.

I will never fight outside of Canada. If I am to fight and die it will be on Canadian soil.

I am willing to fight and die to protect Canadian Citizens, rights, and dreams.

I will not fight for my government's interests and goals.

I will never be part of an invading force.
