Whale I might not exactly trust it, I wouldn't cast it spout without giving it a try. Who knows, it might prove to be a pretty kriller drink.

Yeah but I'm a reptile, I don't know what you mammals have >.> but seriously, how does that work? How would you get it from a whale O_O

Probably would just for the sake of it, since it sounds interesting... but maybe not a full glass. I would check it's okay for human consumption though maybe.

How would you milk a whale though?
That does sound a bit difficult. I mean you'd probably have to be underwater, and you'd need a huuuuuuge bucket.

it occurs to me that none of you are taking into consideration that when the calf is gaining the 10 pounds per hour it is also drinking more milk than we could drink in a day that and the shear size of the calf is much larger than us if you look at it proportionality it wouldn't show much of a difference at all
so it would probably be fattier than cows milk but still it wouldn't be like the 10 pounds per hour

I've just started my new healthy eating regime, so, as tempting as whales milk sounds, I think I'm going to give it a miss.

Well, they are mammals, so I guess I'd be willing to give it a try.
Would probably look it up on the internet first though, can't really afford any growth spurts of that magnitude.

Isn't whale's milk really thick? So that when the calf is feeding little is wasted to the water? I don't think I'd be drinking it so much as eating it as cheese

Hell, we already drink cow's milk, whale milk doesn't seem like too much of a stretch after that. It depends on the nutrition value/taste/consistency, really.

It doesn't sound paticularly more disgusting then drinking cow milk, something I already do. That's probably not the best justification, but I'm sticking to it. Also, Tess of the D'urburvilles would have been a much better book if Tess had spent half the book as a whale milk maid. That's a pretty good reason in my book.
