I'd be uncomfortable, sure. Because I TOTALLY don't read JoJo's Bizarre adventure

False question. Men and women are sexualized differently. There is already a male Bayonetta, his name is Dante and he is badass. He spends an entire game fighting with no shirt. Women love him, and men want to be him.

As people have pointed out, a male Bayonetta is basicaly Dante from Devil May Cry 4 or Raiden from Metal Gear Revengence. The first game was directed by Hideki Kamiya, the guy who supervised Bayonetta 2 and directed Bayonetta 1. Metal Gear on the other hand was made by Platinum, the studio that made both Bayonetta games, so its just there style i guess. And i have to say, stuff like this does not bother me now, it did once, but not anymore. I love Devil May Cry,Metal Gear Revengence and both Bayonetta games, but im a big fan of spectacle fighters, and no one does them better than Platinum, and Capcom back in the day.

Which one, exactly, if you don't mind sharing? I'm honestly curious.
Male bayonetta.... though I'm tempted to do "gay sword wielding stripper bayonetta" too ......
That would be interesting. Best of luck to you getting the costume.

Yeah, it'd make me uncomfortable, but not in an abstract way. I'm fine with something like that existing, just don't expect me to play it. Why can't people who ***** about bayonetta just be that mature about it? Why can't they just say, "Meh, doesn't appeal to me" and walk away. Find something else to play/read otherwise enjoy?

You mean Raiden? Because he's just as acrobatic and sexualized.
And that's why people hate him.

Yes, I would be uncomfortable. But only because it wouldn't make any goddamn sense in this version of the universe. You can't just switch her gender and expect everything to make sense. Here's an example. What if Kratos was female? What if instead of the maniacal testosterone fueled bloodthirsty guy, you had a hysterically sociopathic and bloodthirsty female screaming at everything and everyone while she butchers people with giant machetes wearing nothing but a piece of cloth to cover her ass? I'm only barely able to stomach Kratos because he's a guy. And I'm only barely able to stomach Bayonetta because she's a woman. In both cases, switching the gender would be retarded. Stop pretending that both genders can be represented equally well in all situations and that simply switching the gender wouldn't make any difference. It would, and you should know that by now. That's not gender equality, that's gender stupidity. You don't need to be politically correct to a point of irrationality. Trying to pretend like there are no biologically influenced cultural differences in genders is absurd at best.

I don't find myself uncomfortable with Dante. Either version, for that matter. Before you chime in, just ask fangirls: he's apparently one of THE hottest male characters.

I imagine it would, just like the original Bayonetta makes me feel sick.
Had one hell of a hard time finishing that game.

edit: Really escapist? what's up with the 10 character option limit? :( Ruined my joke.
If you mean the poll that's because you put an ' in some of the options. It cuts the rest of the text out for unknown reasons.

I am a huge fan of pro wrestling. I have seen wrestlers that their whole gimmick is based around attacks with their crotch area. Against other men. There is this super awesome gay African American wrestler who throws kicks and lands in splits, twerks in ring, and wears sequined booty shorts. As a heterosexual man, I FIND THIS AWESOME, and these guys get the loudest cheers and fan appreciation. If I can have zero problems with this in real life, then video games are totally fair game. That sort of stuff I find cool and fun. I don't feel uncomfortable about such things because it's totally harmless. Make the games enjoyable to play and almost everything else doesn't really matter to me.

I once said that character traits are not gender specific. Character traits are a spectrum that have about 80% overlap

So asides from the 10% of traits that can be directly tied to vaginas and the 10% of traits that can be directly tied to cocks, the gender of a character is pretty much interchangeable.

Bayonetta lives in the 10% of estrogen driven traits that wouldn't translate over to a male host intact.

It could be made to work but it would have to be made to work in a way that would alter the character in a way that would make him seem more like "Like Bayonetta but" in stead of "Like Bayonetta butt"

So I picked "All of the above" because of all the joke poll answers on this forum that one actually seemed appropriate.

If this was a costume/skin choice for the next MGS game, that'd be an instant buy. Though I should probably play the other MGS games first. I don't know how this series keep slipping me by, I just forget that I need to buy/borrow/yo-ho-ho them.

So yeah. JoJo exists. I suppose it falls under "power misogyny" for being too fabulous.

I used to be a huge watcher of wrestling. And I would buy virtually all of the wrestling games. In No Mercy, I ran Kane through the Divas storyline because I could, and saw him come out in a bikini, and had my thirty seconds of juvenile fun. When later games came out, and you could edit entrances more thoroughly, I started doing things like having serious characters like the Undertaker come in to Christie Hemme and Mickey James' themes, complete with the animations. And I would snicker and move on.

It's sort of amusing to see the tables turned for about 30 seconds, and then I'm bored with it. I imagine a game pandering to people who want to see men constantly reduced to meat would be as tiresome and come off as as insulting to my intellect as a game pandering to the Boobies and vag crowd.

But I also understand I'm probably not the focus of this thought experiment and I should probably abstain from voting.

I still imagine if a dude conducted himself like Bayonetta, the "who cares?" crowd would largely disappear.

Isnt Bayonetta basicly Devil May Cry?

I guess he doesnt rub his junk in the camera but there is a reason girls like him so much.
Given that getting naked and rubbing his crotch in your face would be part of the point, then the answer is no, she's not.

I thought it was because he was a whiny twit. Oh, and because he was "Not Snake."

Meanwhile, I totally want this game to happen now.

Like, for reals. Like, "shut up and take my money."

I get to play as FemKratos? AWESOME.

What straight men and straight women find sexy, gender aside, is vastly, vastly different. Not too vastly, but, like, double vastly. So it would probably weird female gamers out, because Stupid Sexy Bayonetta.

It would not, however, make me uncomfortable, because Bayonetta is beautiful no matter what she does. That, and I don't really care.

Girls would really find that Batman more sexy? Okay... I wonder which voice would she give him to say: "I'm Batman!"
