I would probably be all terrified and all, but if he pushed me over some hidden line, like theatened children if I had them, or worse, my dog, not only would I kill him, I would mutilate and destroy him whilst meticulously keeping him alive so he could feel my wrath.

If he got me in a rage, I would most likley dice his corpse when it was over. I would probably be arrested under the legal name for Overkill and OTT

Haha, I hear ya' brother. if somebody was threatening my dogs, I'd go off into a rage and probably kill them. Nobody messes with my dogs.

I recently found out that in my rather right-leaning home state of Indiana, I'm fully within my rights to shoot dead anyone who enters my house with the intent to harm me or my family. While I'm not sure if I would, I legally could.

'Intent to harm', how exactly do they establish that? I always wondered about that. Does that mean if you didn't like someone, you could find a way to trick someone onto your property and then shoot them in cold blood? Then lie about their intent? Because that sounds like a really good episode of Colombo.

I'd just grab a gun if I could get to it and hide in the closet looking through the keyhole. The when he comes in the room shoot through the door and kill him there. If I couldn't get to my gun I'd grab my knife and wait behind the door, when he comes in ill slit his neck

Partially, apparently I can have a 'spiky' temper as in it varies a lot. The fact it has an 'e' is something completely unrelated and the 'girl' part should be obvious.

I'm in the military, so that might happen at some point in my life if I am so unlucky. I don't really want to, but I know I could and probably would.

I would first try to disarm the person, but if there's nothing I can do, I would kill if needed.

Yes it's basic human instinct to survive under any circumstances. If that meant killing somebody else I find it hard to believe that anybody could say no if it was a last resort.

If I was the only one in danger I would do my best to disarm him without vitally wounding him.
If it means I die trying to not kill him then I guess I would die.

However, if it was more than just me in an immediate danger and I was in a position in which killing the other person would mean saving more than just myself, than I would probably kill the attacker without delay. Though even in that situation I would never take pride in taking another life, even if it meant I saved countless others.

This isn't really that hard of a scenario because morally, it's in your right to defend yourself...

hell, even the -freaking law- wouldn't punish you for it.

To make a more difficult scenario, it needs to be far more controversial

Well in this case you duid have to be such a jerk that you made a man try to kill you.


If some random serial killer tried it then their wouldnt be a moral problem.

Instinct might drive me to fight him. Then again its just as likely i would run away.

But i wouldnt have ot kill him, just stop him. And i did something to make him mad enough to try and kill me so i was probably sleeping with his wife or dog or something, so if i killed him they might say i was just rying to remove him from the picture so i could be with his wife and take his money.

Of course, if he tried to hurt a family member not directly involved i would have to fight him to protect my loved one. And in that case i could kill him if need be.
