this is a grossly daft question. Are you trained to shoot for some government thing like military or policework in the first place? I'm not, so I can't answer this question in good faith.
Well no, but that is quite different to you inflicting harm on someone else. Do you see that big of a difference between yourself and everyone else on the planet? That you can't see the difference between someone hurting themselves (after all it is really up to them, as their the only ones its directly affecting) and you hurting them. Is the world made up of you, the people you know and everyone else? Or are we all actually surprisingly similiar?Kinguendo said:No, no it wouldnt. Hitler shooting himself, a bad thing in your eyes?Gonad23 said:Bullets are much more "hateful" than words you know. It would actually be you "spreading the hate". Think!!!!Kinguendo said:Depends... if they were shouting some kind of hate speech then yeah. I would try to get tear gas in their hate spreading mouths... but if not then no.
very same hereRJ Dalton said:It is illegal and unconstitutional to attack non-violent protesters. I would not support any order to do so.
Thank you, this is what I've been saying, if people could never protest then the public would literally have no power what so ever. Why do you assume that the people already in power are looking out for the best interest for you, and everyone else on the planet. Just look at all the recent (and not so recent) tax spending, and the environment. Yet we are still paying to make weapons and run a war that was built on lies, hatred and deceit in the first place.Mr Wednesday said:This topic is disgusting. The right to protest is a vital part of our democratic system that so many died to protect.
Shame on every last one of you who said yes.
Or just moralsSoylent Bacon said:If that was the job I applied for, I would be obligated to. It's not like it would be some apalling surprise. That's like working for McDonald's and acting shocked that you are told to take out the garbage or something. It's not pleasant, and it's not the main part of the job, but it's not any kind of surprise, and anybody who refuses to do it either has amnesia or multiple personalities.
...er, just a disclaimer for my analogy: I'm not calling protesters garbage.

I certainly would yeah, if they were asking me to do something I disagreed with. But I would never consider joining an organisation that could do that to my people. I have been seriously put off of ever using these forums again because of all of you right wing crazed gunmen.Cheveyo said:Kyouki1980 said:I turn around and shoot my commanding officer then drop the tear gas amongst the soldiers or police around me.heyheysg said:Let's say you joined the Police/Army and called out to face the mob of the day.
Some are protesting War, corrupt Governments, Workers rights.
So they're basically sitting there jamming up traffic, reducing tourism.
Your commanding officer orders you to start throwing tear gas and shoot rubber bullets and those hippies.
What do you do and why?
So, let me get this straight.
You just spent the last several years of your life training day in and day out to join this group of people. You've bled with these people. They're more than just coworkers because you need to be able to trust them with your life and they need to be able to do the same.
And because you were asked to fire NON-LETHAL rounds to disperse a group of protesters, you would break that trust you formed and spit in the face of the friendships you've made over the years?
I never pass up the chance to throw a hippie... I find trebuchets work the best.heyheysg said:Your commanding officer orders you to start throwing tear gas and shoot rubber bullets and those hippies.
