Consoles (specifically the controllers) do not have the capability to make a meaningful MMORPG. This is the same reason RTS will not work on consoles.

Yes, I want WoW on a console. I've very saddened by the number of people who DON'T want it.

If successful, console MMO's could become the next step in the video gaming industry. I love WoW on my computer, don't get me wrong, but getting a successful console MMO would excite me.

Probably already been said and debated but fuck no, seems like it'd be a real pain in the ass (unless they made it so you can use a mouse and keyboard seeing as, well, you can hook a mouse and keyboard up to the ps3 and I'm assuming 360).

I was going to say no...but than I remember my raiding pattern for my Prot warrior a few years back. Sunder, sunder, taunt, sunder, (than later on) devastate, devastate, taunt, devastate, Thunder Clap.

Than on bosses; Taunt, dev, dev, dev, dev, Rend (for shits and giggles), etc., etc. So yeah I can see a console version if done right. Like half of those hot keys arn't dedicated to non-combat abilities.

The only console RTS even worth wasting breath on is Halo Wars, and by PC standards, it's a piece of shit of an RTS, even comparing to games really similar (and by default, rather simple), such as DoW2.

Seriously, pressing multiple buttons to cast one spell? In an MMO? Sorry, rubbish idea.
Why is it a bad idea? Next time you completely dismiss something, give reasons.

Also, with all due respect, don't be as arrogant just because you play games on a PC.

No it wouldnt work very well. Theres just too many spells, abilities, items, etc for a console control scheme to have, and even if they did somehow make it work, it would probably still be too tedious to play it.

No. Having any MMO with any sort of depth in it (especially combat) on a console is, frankly, retarded. The 4-5 skills you'd be able to use instantly with a gamepad is what you get by level 6. Have you seen how many buttons there are when you get anywhere higher? All sorts of items, potions, even racial skills not even mentioning the 20 or so class ones. Nope, won't work, don't even think about it.
You can (and I have) played WOW with an Xbox controller. It's a lot different, but still playable.
It may still be playable to some extent if you're a dps, a friend of mine actually wound up being number 1 in damage using a controller in an instance. But it wouldn't work for me since I'm a tank, and a controller would be too awkward and clunky for my tanking style.

Same reason it's a bad idea to have Black&White style spell casts.

I play games on consoles, too, but only those that are suited for them. Such as fighters, GoW'esque adventure games or racing games. In other words, nothing deep.
I completely forgot that Black and White had spells. They were the ones that you had to draw onto the ground, right? They were pretty impossible to pull off. But if you set the spell's combination, you'll know what to press. Once you know the combination it's not too difficult to use.

It's a clunky system that is anything but quick and doesn't account for any of the dozens of usable items people carry around with them. Unless you want your potions or your instant-cast-3-minute-cooldown trinkets be on another combination (which is ridiculous, try pressing square-square-x, square-square-o, square-square-triangle or square-square-square just to blow your DPS cooldowns or ones that would get you out of a tight spot), it's bollocks.

And I only sound arrogant because there are so many people who don't get the fucking clue. Every kind of game doesn't have to exist on a console, same way every kind game doesn't have to exist on a PC (again, fighters, racing games and 3d platformers work terribly for a mouse and keyboard setup).
It's not something that should go onto a console, you're right about that. I'd like to see it, both for the game and to see how they managed to sort out all the problems brought up in this thread. It'd make for a nice experiment, but if they were to put an MMO onto a console, it would be much smarter to just come up with a brand new product altogether.

I used to use about 20 buttons + Mouse buttons.

There is no way you can perform the same on a controller.

Oh and keyboard turning is bad enough, controller turning is even worse.

And i dont think I'm alone when I say that I get sick of staring at a computer screen all day.
TV screen - 2D surface you stare at.
Computer Screen - 2D surface you stare at.

Logic, where the fuck it went?
What I meant was that my computer screen was smaller, and closer to my face than my tv, that's why I get sick of staring at it.

What's the point? This means you'll have to have both a 360 and a PC, one version will be completely gimped and shitloads of work will have to be done to make these changes. All this just to get to sit your ass on a sofa?
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I like many other people just prefer gaming on console. It's just the way I am.

It wont make it work just because you like it.
In answer to your first question, no i already have a big tv.

In answer to your second question, if there is a market demand for a console version they would make it. So if a whole bunch of people prefer a console version then they would come out with it.

Here is how it could work, you assign 3 attacks to your B,X and Y buttons (With A acting as a right click on the nearest object). You then can press a trigger + A,B,X or Y to use other stuff.
That gives you a total of 19 slots to put attacks, which is more that the default bar has, and still rather quick to use.
Of course getting a usable interface on console would be hard.
