I'm fairly certain Yahtzee has shown a distaste for catering or paying any attention to his fans...ever, so I'm going to go ahead and say that his review's aren't negative because we want them to be that way.
So I take it you missed the numerous reviews where he says "you guys complained when I mentioned the good stuff, so I'm going to trash it now" (paraphrased). I think it was the review right after Psychonauts or somewhere around there.
I'm damn certain he has addressed this before with a resounding "No" in an interview.
P.S. He's never on our forums, he isn't reading this.
Wrong. Considering that he has quoted forum posts on ExtraPunctuation.
Well, concerning most of his videos are about 5 minutes long, this would mean you are getting a minute review. That doesn't seem like a legitimate review to me at all. Of course, you've already stated that he spends most of his time on the episodes as an entertainer. So which do you think he is, entertainer or serious reviewer?
Newspaper reviews of movies take a minute to read and are based mostly on a star rating.
What's the difference?
How long does a review have to be before it becomes legitimate? What's the word count? Ebert and (the late) Siskel gave two word reviews, "thumbs up", and some people cared and still do care. A review doesn't have to be long. It doesn't have to rate the game in different categories. It can simply be a recommendation or lack thereof.
