Saw a few episodes and while I thought the quality was great (better than most cartoons now) its nothing as everyone makes it out to be. Its a cute and fun show, but way over-hyped and like hell I have to love them because the internet says so.

It may be worth asking yourself why you feel the need to make people see your side of the proverbial fence. Is it a matter of low self-confidence that you have to explain yourself in how you are able watch and enjoy a show marketed towards little girls (and their parents)?Wuffykins said:
That's really how I like to look at it, by the way, and I offer this to you as a possible come-back to those questioning why you watch the show: MLP is not just for little girls, it's for the adults that raise them as well. Inevitably, SOMEONE over the age of 12 will have to sit and watch it with their daughter, so why not make it (at least marginally) enjoyable to all parties involved?

I get what you're saying and I admit I took the wrong approach with that, sorry. Yet the question is actually more of a general one; Why are people taking these threads and turning them into arguments? Watched a few episodes and I gotta admit the Animation quality is great; as for the show it's self... Meh. It's not Bad but not really my cup of tea so I move on and find other things that interest me.
As for the pony haters... LOL. I don't understand how people can get all up in rage about a little TV show
. Makes me wonder what will happen if they made a All Furry Cartoon that became a HIT!
Anyway, I kinda see the show and many other things that come along that are INSANELY POPULAR with that line from Wall Street(2010) When the Shia LaBeouf Character is talking about his Clean energy plans and Micheal Douglass responds (Not Quote) How's its the "next bubble".
In my Mind - That's What Pokemon, Ripped Jeans, LA Gears, Backstreet Boys and now My Little Pony is. It's the next bubble that will float up and up and get everyone to love and adore it until it pops NOT because it sucks but only because it ran it's course and the populous finds something else to throw it's attention at.
(Twilight is sorta on the same course)

Oh, trust me, I have no issues with my self confidence. I live a pretty open life and have no shame in what I do (No, seriously. I have a +2 Pink Apron of Cheesecake making and wear it proudly). But that's not the point today, for showing my side of the fence was for two reasons. First, you put forward a viewpoint of someone on the outside and I simply put up a counter to explain these constant Pony threads from our view point, in the vein to show that it's annoying and tiresome on both sides (And Mr. JackSparrowSucks presents a perfect example of the 'Skip everything we say and remind us it's a children's show' post that lengthens them unnecessarily, just take a quick look above.)Zeekar said:

Yes, I'll admit that you did write "sane." Sadly though, things like being closed minded, holier than thou attitudes, and the basic definition of bigotry are not quantifiers of one's sanity or not. If anything, a grown man who likes pink and watches My Little Pony is the one who's insane by today's societal standards. Also, take another look at MiracleOfSound's comment that I quoted earlier. Is that a backhanded comment against the show's 'other' demographic saying they only watch because they're watching a bunch of stereotyped teenage girls on all fours and drooling all the way? Probably, and you can see how that can be taken as personal attack by some. Did I feel the need to grab my pitchfork and jpegs and run after him? Fuck no, he's not worth my time. Not everyone feels that way though, and as such the threads do bloat.
Anyway, you've said your piece, I've said mine, and I just hope I have explained that some of us are being defensive for a reason. I'm not trying to change your mind on anything (This is the Internet, that's a damn near impossible feat to accomplish), and just answering that previous line once again with "Yes. Yes we are suggesting that."
