According to an article I recently found off of <url=http://www.cracked.com/article_18532_5-terrifying-ways-your-own-gadgets-can-be-used-to-spy-you_p1.html>something on Cracked, many ISPs, particularly in the United States, are spying the shit out of you and keep data connected to your IP address for a period upwards of half a year. If your ISP doesn't make it obvious, there is no way to tell whether or not you're being watched. ISPs will often give your information to the government and to the RIAA (who will then sue the living shit out of you for downloading two songs several years ago). ISPs may also sell your information to advertising companies. I could be being watched as I type this, and you as you read this.
Oh, and <url=http://www.wired.com/politics/onlinerights/news/2007/05/isp_privacy>here's the article on ISPs.
What are your thoughts, fellow Escapists?
