I wanted to get it just because of Zork, then I slapped myself and bought Infocom collection

I bought it because I wanted a semi-realistic multiplayer FPS. Thats it. Granted I did find the cutscenes and overall flow of the campaign to be quite enjoyable. I have just gotten kind of burned out on TF2, the Carl Gustav ruined BC2 MP, and MW2 is full of hackers. I needed a new fix, this was it. Well worth the money.

It has taken me half that time to get to get to the part that I am now in Fallout New Vegas and I haven't even discovered what the platinum chip, that they stole from me twice, does.

By the way, I mostly bought Black Ops for the campaing and for the zombies.

I got it for the PC which was a mistake seeing as my connection at uni is not that great and the game lags online...
Still, it runs nice and smoothly on the campaign which I've nearly completed...

Call of Duty is alright. When you're in the right mood, online is great fun. However, often I do find myself getting bored of it after about 4 or 5 games. And then, what makes it worse, is if you're having a particularly bad-CoD day and you just get angry and rage quit.

Zombies are always fun though. And I do like the Wager matches.

I shall never buy it!

Mostly 'cause giving Activision money via my WoW subscription is bad enough, and I don't like Call of Duty seeing as the campaign is 8 hours long and I'll never use the multiplayer.
I don't understand what the length of a campaign has to do with how good it is. Everyone says MW2s campaign was too short. They said Black Ops campaign is too short. Then they rave about how awesome the Cod4 campaign is and how it was the best story ever. Guess what, it was about 6-8 hours long.

The length of the story has nothing at all to do with how good it is. Black Ops has a damn fine story mode.

OT: I bought it because my friends were moving to it, and because I wanted a change in scenery. I was ready for a new game.

Multiplayer. I love trolling the kind way. Like we were daisy chaining Second Chance pro to piss people off in TDM.

The fine score was 7500 ((my team)) to 1900. They called us hackers. *snicker* oh! So much fun.
That's good, the more people show up the exploits in the game the more likely Treyarch will be to fix that kind of crap. Keep going.

Anyway, haven't got it yet, but it looks balanced and fun, so I'm gonna get it.

My question is this: Why can't you play the cool new game modes (gun game, etc.) in local multiplayer?

Would sorta be pointless, then you could rig matches and gain a ton of cod points.

I won't buy it for several reasons:
- I mainly buy games for the campaign and the campaign totally sucks (from what I have read at least).
- I'm making a vain stand against Activision and their terrible milking habits.
- I'm not a huge fan of the COD franchise anyway (I don't hate it but it's a pretty average shooter. I'm also less interested in real weapons and prefer sci-fi shooters.)

So, basically, it doesn't really interest me. I'm pretty shocked that 10% bought it for the campaign, to be honest. Seems like the multiplayer is by far the biggest draw.

Haven't bought it, and I'm sure as hell not going to for the multi-player, which is the exact same as MW and MW2, both of which I've grown tired of. Single-player could be interesting, but as earlier mentioned it's very short (all CoD games have less actual play-time for campaigns than it says on the box, some times A LOT less), and not worth the pile of money they want for it... Maybe if it goes on sale some day... *laughs ironically*

Why isn't this answer an option on the poll?
Because they said 'mostly'. Which bit were you looking forward to most overall? Sure you might want it for everything, but for me I was really interested to see what the campaign has to offer.
No, seriously, why isn't that an option? You just said "sure you might want if for everything"... Exactly! There should be an alternative! Just cause the campaign drew you in more than the other aspects, doesn't mean others can't feel equally drawn to it by all elements?
