German sounds awesome to swear in, but is actually fairly tame in content. Afrikaans (South Africanised Dutch) can sound positively filthy. English is fantastic to swear in, because its widely understood and relatively easy to be profane.

"FUCK!" takes my vote for its versatility and fun (both for saying and performing) but its also awesome if you can string a whole bunch of fantastic swearwords together.

Well James... I have two.
I'm a connoisseur of curse words; here is my first;

And my second is the ever immortal "CLUSTERFUCK!"

Noun, as in "THAT GAME OF LEFT 4 DEAD WAS A CLUSTERFUCK!"

**** is the only swear word that actually shocks anymore. People have become desensitised to swearing, and I often get told that '****' is too harsh a word.

People, it's a swear word. It isn't supposed to be nice.
True. It's really strange considering it would be no different from calling someone a dick, which is used so often it's hardly considered a swear anymore.

This would be my favorite swear word:

I'm actually fond of the term "bloody" and "fuck." The first happened because I was going through an Anglophile phase. The second? I don't really know. One time, I found myself enjoying saying "fuckers."

Bastard is another common term but not so much because I like it as it's what I said to keep from getting into too much trouble.

You cock juggling double twat.

Catches people off guard, gets laughs, and as a whole can be said with as much vehemence as 'Bastard'. It's also versatile. Calling people a "double" anything is good- I'm sure we all know the famous one.
...a double bubble blowin' baby?

OT: I normally don't curse in public, but "shit" is my favorite.

I think Wanker is my favorite, and the one I have the most versions of.
'Wanker', 'Sir Wanks-A-Lot', 'Wankbiscuit', 'Wankdoodle', the list goes on.

I also tend to shriek 'Merde' whenever I trip/hurt myself. It gets me weird looks.

Says it all, really...

Apologies for crappy quality.

And any swear in Russian. It's beautifully satisfying.

I do swear a lot, can't really say I like it or that I have a favorite, because the sort of faded away when I got out of middle school and grew up...

I tend to use shit the most since it rolls off the tongue so easily.

However, bastard is my favorite, there are just so many hilarious uses for bastard.

ugh, it sucks that you only included british swear words. My favorite is ************. In quebecois french, my favorite is tabernac I only use the word **** when I'm gaming competitively and socially. Like playing Settlers or Zombies, when someone gets one over on you, and it's a particularly good one, then it's ok to call them a ****. But never a woman, because Canadian women get really offended by that.

Scheiße, even though I've only picked up some basic Deutsch. Also, frack...which has slipped far enough into my vernacular that I use it in all circumstances regardless of the person I'm talking too having ever even heard of Battlestar Galactica >_< I curse...rather peculiarly.
