Of the list there presented I can think of already which one I'd pick... it's obvious really as anyone who knows me well enough on this forum can vouch.
[HEADING=1]HALO 3[/HEADING]
[sub]also Bioshock[/sub]

Currently playing a fair share ammount of Dystopia [http://www.dystopia-game.com]. Cyberpunk multiplayer FPS? Hell yes! :D

I play quite a bit of TF2 as well, thinking about getting S.T.A.L.K.E.R

L4D. I'm a sucker for co-op zombie apocalypse.
Nothing quite like a nice game of L4D with my friends.
I was honestly thinking of putting it in there, but it isn't really an FPS. Yes, it's first person, and yes, it has guns, but there is far more of an emphasis on the idea of surviving a zombie invasion.
Well yeah....but since most games you listed have a different focus: mp only,sp,action/stealth
i didn't see any reason to a exclude co-op survival game...but hey it's your poll. XD

To be honest, none of the games you listed have managed to truly captivate me.
So I really felt I needed to add sommething I liked. ;)

But, all the games I listed have the main goal of killing the other people you meet online. I know there are countless modes where this isn't the case, but when you get down to it that's what its about.

I haven't played L4D, but I have a pretty good understanding about how it works, and it has a very different focus to the rest of the games up there.

For me, it's Halo 3.

To be fair, I haven't played several of the games on your list. COD 4 was good for me, as long as it was the campaign, the multiplayer was like playing MLG or Snipers on Halo 3, so I wasn't that impressed with it. It was just a little too "realistic" Plus there are no plasma grenades, which are one of my favorite weapons.

Alot of people on here have said they liked Team Fortress 2. I bought the orange box, loved Portal, but thought Half Life 2 was horrible. So, I never even tried TF 2, that may have been a mistake on my part. Hindsight 20/20 and all that.*

* All statements above were my personal opinion, and do not necessarily mean that HL2 is a bad game, or that Halo 3 is a good game.

TF2 gets my vote, just, although Halo 3 was a damn fine game as well.

CoD 4 was great and all, but too trial-and-error in some sections.

Team Fortress 2, mostly because of the great community I found. Great people to play with online = more fun than playing in pubs. It's a fantastic game, but I probably wouldn't still be playing it today, after getting it at launch, were it not for the great community.
Most of those other games I just don't like that much. Halo was alright, but then it got too much of the same, CoD... I just don't like it and Rainbow Six is a little too complex to just pick it up and play. TF2 strikes that fantastic balance between accessability and depth.

Anyone who mentions or picks Halo 3 have no taste in the genre.

Call of Duty 4 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Halo 3

Hell, Call of Duty 4 is even better than Counter-Strike. Thats how good it is.
Notice that I typed this exact passage earlier in this thread:

I've played on Cod 4 and enjoyed Halo 3 more than it.

Therefore, Halo 3 is better.

But, wait... Cod 4 is better than Halo 3, or so you said.

I think we found a hole in the universe's logic and reality!

Oh, no... wait, I think we found something else...

Opinion.

Bioshock probably. Though it's not got much replay value it's still the best fps I've played (I'm a sucker for a story so it's obvious why).
Honourable mention goes to Serious Sam, which still counts because the remake is coming out soon.
Really? Sweet. I never heard about that.

I'm just going to say CoD: WaW. Yes, WaW. Because I hardly ever play multiplayer and the singleplayer, in my opinion, was far superior.

Go on, flame me.
