Demon's Souls is popular?Nedoras said:Demon's Souls. Right when I first started playing it, I was expecting it to be some crazy hard, amazing RPG based on what everyone was saying. When I finished it all I saw was a mildly challenging, average RPG. It was good and slightly difficult, but not as good or crazy hard as everyone makes it out to be.
I think? Around where I live, people don't shut up about it and label it game of the year. It gets constant praise on the internet as well.Vanguard_Ex said:Demon's Souls is popular?Nedoras said:Demon's Souls. Huh...then again, I do live in a British town where there are probably the fewest PS3s of any console. The 360 is king here.Nedoras said:I think? Well I dunno about you, but I've never seen a military outside of halo intent on making their soldiers walk disco balls. Seriously, why the hell is it so shiny? and orange isn't the most subdued colour, either especially when it fuckin' fluroescent. XPSulfuricDonut said:Since when has green NOT been the standard colour of military uniforms? (most camouflage is green, since most places have green environments, including Halo)captaincabbage said:It's gotta be Halo for me. not just Halo, but 2, 3 and all the spin offs. I just can't see what is so popular about it, but then again, 13 year olds are attracted by bright colours, hence the most retarded armor in the history of the military was born.
Personally I don't understand how people like CoD. The games have been getting progressively worse since CoD 3, yet are selling progressively more.
Lol I'm not quite sure what you're getting at there. If I didn't think people were allowed to have opinions, then I wouldn't have written what I said. After all, that's an opinion and I will always respect an opinion, no matter what I think of it.Awake- said:Or maybe they just like the series. And no, I'm not a Halo fanboy, I hate shooters.
lol now now, pish posh. I specifically said 13 year olds, not 14. I'm sure that'll clear it up, especially since I bet you know at least one 13 Y.O. who gets hypnotised by the flashing lights and shiny opjects, which is also why they keep being exploded by plasma grenages. OT: 'part from the usuals e.g. Halo, MW2 the MDK games were so crap...
I even remember using the arrows not the analog and WTF?
Holy crap, how that hell did that one not explode into the forefront of my mind when I first wrote?! I'm honestly flabberghasted at the popularity of games like WoW and Second Life. If nothing else, it's simply an unprecedented achievement of gaming addiction.eyedonutkair said:I agree. Halo was fun to play, and i even got into 2 a little bit. But the fangirls were like the Twilight fans. Maybe worse. I also agree with the whole age thing. There's nothing more rewarding to a kid than to feel like an adult, and nothing makes that happen more than 'violence you're not supposed to see' type of games and shooters. Its hard to say a system is not 'kiddy' when they appeal exactly to childlike minds. However, I'm gonna have to go with WoW. mah-mor-pah-gers are like giant graphical chatrooms, with the actual 'game' part just a way to say 'hey, i'm better than you.' It's not to say it isn't fun, as i'm sure it is, but the popularity is nutz.captaincabbage said:It's gotta be Halo for me. not just Halo, but 2, 3 and all the spin offs. Insert Fanboyrage here <-- Also to say ehm.. Do you play games for 1-2 hours and return them because you lent them or because you were not amused? Not to judge too harshly but it just seems like an awfull waste of time and money to buy games to throw them away.Draithx said:Halo, returned the first game for the pc after playing for like 1-2 hours and only played Halo 3 co-op with a friend when I just got my xbox360
Half Life 2, got bored in the first hour or so where all I did was run away.
Oblivion, completed the story line and some side-quests but can't see how people can put like 100+ hours into this.
Fallout 3, oblivion with guns.
Modern Warfare 2, generic shooter.
Bad Company 2, generic shooter.
Probably more, but those are all I can think of right now.
not now, don't just stereotype me because I find Halo to be nauseating. I'm not much of a fan of the CoD series, or many other similar games. I just really prefer games that push the envelope, at least just a little bit. I won't deny that the first Halo brought some excellent idea to the shooter table, albiet wrapped in a big ball of run of the mill weapons and mediocre gunplay, but I'd rather play something that isn't afraid to take some forward strides, and Halo has been side stepping since the series started. I enjoyed Mirrors Edge, despite it's wonky arse controls and wierd difficulty curve, but Halo just doesn't stimulate anything within my mind.HG131 said:And here we have the logic behind gray and brown games.captaincabbage said:It's gotta be Halo for me. not just Halo, but 2, 3 and all the spin offs. For me, BioShock. It just was bad. Like, -9001/10 bad.
