Meh, i'm okay with it, but then again, I was raised in a household that was very sexually open (my father runs a fetish market).

Sex has every right to sell, its a large part of what we are, and what we do. If anything, porn needs to get out of the dirty hole its gotten itself into, become more accepted by the mainstream. I don't see why human function should become such a dirty subject.

As long as its legal, I think it shouldn't be banned, that said, it doesn't necessarily mean I'd watch it.

After years of collecting I have well over 2.5TB of "stuff." A lot of them are 70's-80's classics. I have around 1,000 full length movies worth of classics alone. Everything I have is always up and running in my tower, and then I have duplicates backed up to other hard drives that sit in boxes. I spin those up every 6 months to a year and check on them.

I intend to hold on to my collection. I have even got into it before with girlfriends over it but I won't budge. It's just harmless fantasy and I can say with certainty that I will never cheat in a relationship as long as I have that outlet.

That's one of the most profound things i've read this year.

But back to PORN- I think that everyone here is running along the track of mainstream pornography- the stuff that's always being brought up in news reports and school yards. From personal experience, there is a very healthy undercurrent to the industry that is often overlooked- i've met people who have starred in BDSM flicks, directed them, distributed them- and they are some of the most down to earth and sexually healthy people you could ever meet. The women are treated with respect, and the men realise that, at heart, it's more than just business- for many, porn is a lifestyle (and I know that this mindset doesn't stop at BDSM).

Lets face it, in this day and age, sex is gaining credibility as a means of expression, both internally (as a means of expressing love, of sharing an experience) and externally (as a means of exhibitionism, and genuine art), I don't see why we should hinder this expression by concentrating only on the darker aspects. There's a wealth of positive experiences out there, pornography is just a means of committing one of these experiences to paper.
