Ooh, I forgot one. I used to work at an office supply store, in the electronics department. One night, I was the only one working the department and I heard "Machines help to aisle 3." So I head over to aisle 3 and see a guy looking at a double-layer DVD burner. I walk up to him and say "Hi, can I help you?" "Oh, no, I'm waiting for the electronics guy." "Well...I'm the electronics sales associate, sir." "...you're a girl." "Yes, sir." "Girls don't know anything about computers! Get me a guy." At this point I wanted to murder him, but I just said "I'm the only one working the department tonight, sir." He proceeded to quiz me on my technical knowledge, then asked me a million questions about the burner...and then didn't buy anything anyway.
Encounters like that are probably where I got the patience that I need in my current tech support job.
