I already got RE4, and, regarding MGS, what game should I start with? MGS2 is on PS2, but I could probably get MGS1 for cheap...Jfswift said:
Personally I thought MGS1 was pretty epic, 2 wasn't bad (at first I didn't like Raiden but he's started to grow on me a bit), and 3 is cool because of the extra gadgets, camoflauge, etc. I say buy 3 and then play 1 and 2 but if 1 is on sale, get that first.smearyllama said:

If I get either of those, it'll probably be for PS3 anyway, 'cause I can get them on my PSP, too.

Such a great, yet unknown, classic.
OP: Ratchet and Clank, and the entire .Hack// series. Believe me, I HATE JRPG's, but .Hack// nearly made me jizz.
Anyway, a good--nay great game is Shadow of the Colossus. In my opinion it is one of the best PS2 games ever! The graphics are great (For a PS2) even rivaling those of the Wii, and it's a very memorable experience. Katamari: Damacy is another good one, remember wasting my time more than one good afternoon on it.
Edit: Destroy All Humans 1 and 2 as well, epic games with interesting plot and some fun weapons making goofing off a great time! Each of the places along the story is like a sandbox, and you can even go back to them at any time!

i would personally recommend:
-grand theft auto san andreas
-metal gear solid snake eater
-god of war
-twisted metal black
-smuggler's run 1 & 2
avoid killzone though, the first one sucked sooo much
EDIT: ahhhh, i forgot about the soul reaver/ blood omen series! those games were amazing 3rd person hack-and-slash game with a deep (although confusing) storyline. the entire game was just surrounded by awesomeness and the difficulty (at least when i was a kid) was off the charts
You can use PS1 memory cards in the PS2. There are also "PS1 mem card for PS2"'s that have ~20-100 times the normal space of a PS1 memory card. They're available at any EB/Gamestop.Super Toast said:

Jump ahead to 4:00. This is exactly why this game was awesome. Continually breaking the fourth wall, either saying things to the player, or arguing with the narrator, or just making fun of the things you would expect to see in a game like this.
