Are you guys retarded? A Game of Thrones IS NOT a fantasy series; it's the first book of the series A song of Ice and Fire! Also, it already HAS it's own television show being run by HBO.The Escapist Staff said:Question of the Day, October 17, 2010
Going off of yesterday's question - which fantasy novel series would you like to see turned into a TV show?

Yeah, I'd take a movie of Mortal Engines - it's too epic for a TV series' special effects budget to get right, I'd think.Cpu46 said:I was going to post something else but this is what really needs to be done. Either a tv series or a full length well directed/scripted/acted movie. Loved that series to death.Lenny Magic said:The Mortal Engines books, a original concept of towns on treads, and scenes that would look pretty damn stunning if done right.
They're doing a film, then using the TV to bridge the gap (do the parts not quite right for film) between film 1 and 2.Discon said:I voted Discworld, but I'd love to see Stephen King's The Dark Tower series turned into a television series.
In the process of rereading this series again...just started A Feast For Crows. imo I think George feeds off the suffering and anguish of his eagerly awaiting fans.Frozen Donkey Wheel2 said:It already does, A Song of Fire and Ice, by George RR "Goes To Far With Practical Jokes" Martin.
I'm saying that he wrote the first four books with no intention of releasing the remaining three as a practical joke. It becomes more plausible every day.
I remember those series too! I quite liked them and they would count as series. So yes, Discworld HAS been done as a series... on the other hand, I would love to see more of them, so I went with that. Preferably something based in the Unseen University.Rogue 9 said:Ah man, I remember the animated series of Wyrd Sisters and Soul Music when I was a kid. I'd love to see another Discworld animated series from the studio that made those - maybe Thief of Time or Moving Pictures. That'd be great.
I voted for Magician though. It's one of my all time favourite books, so I'd love to see it get adapted to a series, if done well.
