I don't really what's wrong with no marathon/lightweight, or the fact that you have to actually purchase upgrades instead of just "Oh, you hit lvl 20, here's 4 new guns, and 2 new perks. Have at 'em." I really do like what Treyarch has been trying to do with this game. Whether it's going to work or not, I have no idea. (Don't really care about quickscoping as I've never encountered any. :p)

Believe it or not, a lot of the youtube players are mature adults who just so happen to enjoy sniping in Call of Duty.

Leave it to Treyarch to completely ruin something that wasn't the least bit broken or overpowered. I'm sure Black Ops will have an MP40 equivalent too, so the bads can just spray randomly for their "skill kills". Yea, that's way better than snipers. Totally.

Whats a witchknife? I'm sorry, I don't play CoD much.
It's when you combine the perks lightweight (lets you sprint faster), marathon (allows you to sprint infinitely), and commando (increases the reach of your knife). Doing this makes you an unstoppable killing machine who can outrun bullets. And yes, it's exactly as ridiculous as it sounds.

I gotta admit, there's a little bit of truth here. I played MW2 on my friend's PS3 while I was watching his house for a few days, and the bane of my existence was not quickscopers, but UMP + Bling with FMJ and Silencer.

I'm serious, I consider myself no good player at all, but when every single death of mine in an entire match is either to a UMP or a random teleporting knife, then something has gone terribly wrong.

Whether or not this will actually fix COD's multiplayer is not mine to know. I'm gonna wait a few months and watch the forums to see which wonderfully overpowered perk they're going to ignore until the next game.

#1. make the knife take up your secondary weapon slot. this way you have to SWITCH to the knife first to make you kills. this will eliminate the so called "witch-blade" players, because they cant instantly use their knife.

You have good ideas. Ideas that are almost too good. Sadly, I've seen gameplay from Black Ops of people just running around knifing, and shooting and reloading their ballistic knives. Ugh. One step forward, two steps back.

The melee was originally meant for games where it was easy to run out, but since people RELY on the knife, it's become a just another weapon, not your last resort, which is what it is suppose to be. I like #2. If you're playing a SHOOTER, you should be able to grasp those concepts, like accuracy and ammo conservation.

This is why I enjoy MoH and BC. The knife is truly your last resort, not your go-to weapon.

OT: Good news. And if you're complaining about it being taken away, you're a retard.

You have that problem too? I'm not out of my mind? Throw in noob tubes and you have yourself a deal! A friend of mine does not think the UMP is OP. But when you're playing normal, and a silent UMP without stopping power or FMJs kills you in 5 bullets, something is wrong. The Vector shoots the same size bullet, but it's one of the weakest, if not the weakest, gun in the game! I suppose these oversights happen when Activision is forcing you to make a game you don't want to make, and never test it...and never fix it.

There will always be something that is OP, unless, of course, you play CoD4. Amazingly balanced.

A bit disappointing, as I used Slight of Hand while sniping. Not to say I quickscope; nowhere near competent enough to pull that off. Generally used it if caught by surprise in a close-quarters situation or after spotting a sprinting enemy with precious little time to hit him before he made it to cover.

No danger close or One man Army. Plus no perk revitalizes explosives.

Supposedly its gonna be the most balanced CoD game, which really has been the series only problem. Its gonna be refreshing to see a balanced Call Of Duty game, I must say.

OT: I never had to much of a problem with quickscopers, I just started to hate the false sense of elitism and the pure douchebaggery of people who landed one every once in a while.

During my CoD4 days I was an amazing sniper. I got the Golden Dragunov legitimately, one of my biggest gaming accomplishments. But because of the idiots thinking that taking advantage of the Auto aim was the coolest thing in the world, it got ruined. Lots of muting went around.

The biggest problem with Quickscoping isn't that it kills you in a cheap way, it's that it makes the entire game look like a retarded clusterfuck. You expect me to believe that a hedge jumping around a skyscrapper roof firing from the hip with a massive rifle has any place in Modern Warfare. I realise that I will not have pure reality in a multiplayer game, ever, but when I get killed by some total spas spirniting around the field, it sure does take me out of the game.

Anyway, I like the sound of what Treyarch has done. By encouraging people to look down the scope you've created a game where people (or good players anyway) are careful with how they move forward because other players could holding down that part of that map and looking straight at where you want to run to. You can't run around like a fool with your knife because someone could be waiting around that corner, and probably will be. Call it camping if you must, but I find that games play much better when people don't run around like a total retard.

I just hope that the weapons are balanced. Let us avoid another UMP this time around.

The way they are gimping it is by changing the way the scope zooms in. In all the other games, the scope zooms in directly in the middle of the screen, taking advantage of the auto aim which gives a little assistance for the kill.

In Black Ops, the sniper will not zoom in directly in the middle. It will zoom in randomly somewhere on your screen, meaning you have to adjust your aim to hit the player. Pretty much making it entirely luck if you manage to quick scope a player.

Quick Scoping was never exactly Over powered in the Call of Duty games, albeit annoying, the fact that Treyarch is considering it a problem means they don't have their Priorities completely straight. The sniper is now pretty much the lame duck class that you shouldn't be seeing much of anymore.

To sum up my other post explaining it, Quick Scoping is going to be entirely luck now. I'm with you, I would have rather had it gone back to the CoD 4 days without all the easy mode. The sniper is completely nerfed.

I disagree. The knife has become part of the core of the Call of Duty series. The guns kill so fast anyways that it would basically become pointless to have an insta kill option that requires time to draw. It also encourages people not to camp.

Personally, I think they should make it like Halo Reach. Have a knife kill be like an assassination. It looks cool, and you don't have the one "Retard Rusher" who sprints through the enemy lines cutting people with his knife. while his team mates watch in terror only half way through reloading. An animation should take about 2 seconds, leaving enough time for them to open fire.

Fun Fact, The UMP was stronger and more accurate than any Automatic Assault rifle in MW2. I'm not great, but when I put on the Evolved version of the MP40, my KD goes up by ten. No matter what.

Auto pistols are gone completely, though akimbo is available for standard pistols and some SMG's, however since there is no more stopping power and juggernaut or whatever they will probably be a lot less used, maybe in favour of the many other attachments.

I recently traded my MW2 disc for my friends CoD4 one as his copy of MW2 got scratched or something, and it was a damn good decision.

The balance is great, cept for the damn M16's with Stopping Power...

The WA2000 and the Dragonov have the same damage ratios so its kind of pointless to have both. They probably decided on the WA due to the smaller magazine.

This makes you sound like a quick scoper. If this is the way there nerfing it, it would mean you actually have to aim, thats the point of a sniper.

It is the way a sniper is meant to be, if it means it becomes the lame duck class that just means all those kiddie winks aren't "xXelite-sniperzXx" and only "hard scopers" are the real snipers.
