I can allready hear the pitiful screams of immature children crying because their beloved quick scoping doesn't work anymore. Hahahaaaa
It seems like the people crying about quickscoping are the immature children as ARing or SMGing has the advantage over quickscoping. Just take out all aim assist online, which should not be online in the first place.
Consoles need sticky aim, because no matter how good you are with analog sticks, it doesn't measure up to the accuracy of a mouse.

Yeah, I know the mouse is much more accurate and easy to aim than using analog sticks. Didn't CoD4 not have sticky aim? I had no problem aiming in CoD4. I like the challenge of aiming with the analog sticks and makes getting those spot-on shots feel good.

From Destructoid: http://www.destructoid.com/quickscoping-gimped-in-call-of-duty-black-ops

Article Below------

If you were a fan of Modern Warfare 2's Sleight of Hand' Perk, then you might want to rethink your strategy. Treyarch has confirmed that "quickscoping" will have its nuts ripped out in Call of Duty: Black Ops, eliminating one of the game's less hacksome cheap tricks.

"Quickscoping is a cheap way to play," tweets Treyarch communiy bod Josh Olin. "We're specifically going to gimp Quickscoping, sorry. Play straight-up!"

Quickscoping is where a player uses Sleight of Hand in conjunction with the game's auto-aim in order to achieve a slightly less than earned amount of precision. It was the bane of many a CoD player's existence and its gimpage ought to make quite a few people happy.

It won't please the Quickscopers, of course, but screw those guys with a rusty spanner.

-----------------------------------------------------

Yay, one less cheap tactics! :D Me happy.

Though sad to see Sleight of Hand Gone (I believe its gone), it was good for reloading. :(
>gimp
>gimping
>gimpage even

Oh god, no please stop. The word both you and Josh Olin are looking for is "Nerfed"! A weapon of feature made less powerful or effective in a game is described as nerfes as in the sense of a Nerf Ball Gun.

This is a gimp:

And don't ask be for an example of the verb "to gimp".

BTW. I approve of nerfing quick-scoping, it is blatantly an exploit of the console aim assist though is distinct from merely not looking constantly though the sights.
The word "gimp" as a verb is commonly understood to mean "to weaken". For most people, this is the only common meaning. The fact that this word disturbs you speaks more to your personal life than the word itself.

Okay, I just watched a video about quick scoping. I still don't get how Sleight of Hand helps.
I presume you're playing the PC version?

There's auto-aim in the console version, so when you aim down your sight the gun snaps to a target immediately(if it's in the general direction). With other weapons it's not so bad, since to begin with aiming with the other weapons would be quite easy and they compensate for it by reduced power and accuracy. However, sniper rifles have high power and high accuracy, so essentially this auto-aim means that it's pretty much an instant kill at close quarters, and much of this is not so much because the "sniper" had the skill to aim the scope at the target but rather abuses the auto-aim for that purpose. When you add in SOH-pro, which reduces the time duration for aiming down the scope, what you get is people with high accuracy, high powered rifles running around spamming auto-aim for 1 shot kills.

Does that answer your question?

BTW: i play on PC , so no auto-aim = "quick scoping" doesn't do anything other than reduce time needed to aim down the scope, rather than auto-aim spam. So it's actually not a game breaker here, but very useful in counter-sniping scenarios.

The more I know about Black Ops, the more I look forward to it.

Quickscoping was awful. I hate those pr0-qu1cksc0p3r kids who shout insults at me. No, I don't "hardscope" you fucking idiot, I use the sniper rifle properly.

All console Call of Duty games have had sticky aim since CoD2.

This is incorrect. It does not "snap" towards your target. If you are already aiming at someone, it will very slightly follow them for a split second. It does not aim for you, and it doesn't glue your crosshairs to enemies. It simply tracks the target very very slightly.

they got rid of Commando pro so it wont be.

Also funny video. XD
Admittedly I was looking for an excuse to post that gif.
Also stopping power and juggernaut are gone, meaning all players will be on equal ground.
Yes, this Call of Duty is looking better and better by the day.

Speaking from a Sniper's perspective, i'm glad its gone. But again from the Sniper's perspective, it takes some time to look down a scope, so, why not take away the auto-aim system? Makes the game more skillful.

Can it be true? We can return to proper sniping??? BRILLIANT!

... It's slightly relevant to mention that a small child once told me i was shit for hardscoping.... In the following game I then proceeded to beat his skull inside out with intervention rounds :)

Good riddance, can't stand all the kids with horrid gamertags full of X's and whatnot who run around trying to pull off these stupid sniper shots.

No good competitive players do the quick-scoping rubbish, only random wannabe players with no skill whatsoever do.

Personal attack. Yeah, keeping it classy I see, because you'd have to imply a perverted sexual life when it's bloody obvious I learned the term like most people from Pulp Fiction.{sarc}

also your definition is unsubstantiated bullshit:

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/gimp

It's older and obsolete term is a slur for someone who walks with a limp AND ONLY THAT, not general disability, certainly wouldn't apply to a gun being slightly less deadly. The modern popular meaning is a term for a sexual fetishist.

"Nerfed" IS THE PROPER TERM in this context of video game weaponry.

We have all used the term nerfed for this since the origins of competitive video game first-person-shooters in the 90's, an era of gaming the younger generation (young teens) seems to be happy to be completely ignorant of. There were shooters before Halo you know!

It's a shame that MW2 has basicly driven me from playing another CoD however everything I've heard of this one is all good. I sure won't be getting it straight away but I'll be having my eye on it from now on. If it's as good as this news then there is hope for it yet.

So...the removal of Auto-Aim means that skill is no longer required. How does that work out?

Unless you're sitting in a corner staring down your sights (which means you're basically an idiot), then sniping is no longer possible.
I'm sorry, uh, do you know how snipers work in RL?

Sniping in gaming in general has gone sour the last few years. Traditional counter sniping methods - smoke, flanking, armor, etc - have been excluded from games and sniper rifles have become overpowered on mobility alone (as in, you can somehow fire a sniper rifle from your shoulder, take 1.3 seconds to aim at someone's head from a few hundred yards away and fire, then keep moving). Hopefully, this will actually make snipers in Black Ops similar in skill type to the spy in TF2 - you have to know your enemy, you have to know the map or you're going to be a miserable player, but if you do know all of that and you have the skill and team support, you can be an absolutely devastating force on the field, strangling entire corridors by yourself and maybe a spotter or a guard to keep off close ranged foes.

Sure, you'll get a ton of people saying, WTF is this shit? I thought this was CoD, not ArmA. But you'll get a ton of shit no matter what the game will turn out like, and people will get used to it.

Daww, I liked the perk, it helped my Killstreak Destroyer Class, because I'd reload the Stinger Faster.

Still, glad to see that this perk is gone.
