Quickscoping "Gimped" in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

I suppose thats one thing that off the list of things that preventing me from buying his game though, the others being:

Marathon, light weight and commando.

The majority of people using the same goddamn guns(UMP, intervention, SCAR).
Expanding on the previous point; UMP, marathon, lightwieght/stopping power. There is always sombody every single game.
The perk allowing you to change your class at any time (the name evades me for some reason)
+ RPG's/ noob tubes.
Akimbo shotguns (yeah i know its nerfed now but its still broken if used with bling pro with FMJ).
The fact they showed no evidence of public/beta testing or concerns for gamplay balancing.

thats alls i can think of for now.
Marathon only works for a little bit, no non stop running.

Commando is gone.

Noob tube is there but the only way to get more nades for it is to die.

There will always be an OP gun, just a fact of gaming life.

OMA (one man army) is gone, although if used correctly it is a great perk.

I don't think there is any akimbo, I could be wrong.

Its definitly looking improved, kinda makes me wanna jump back on the bandwagon.

Oh and thanks for telling me the name of the one man army perk, it was really bothering me the fact i couldnt remember the name.

Still pretty undecided as to whether i'll be getting this slice of the franchise.

I guess ill just wait for release, watch some reviews and some gameplay on youtube.

Thats what im going to do, wait for awhile. I swear this game better make me sandwich and turn into a cold beer after im done playing, which isnt unreasonable after MW2. but coming from the people that did WAW, i know people will shudder when i say MP-40 with duel mag remember that?

I recently traded my MW2 disc for my friends CoD4 one as his copy of MW2 got scratched or something, and it was a damn good decision.

The balance is great, cept for the damn M16's with Stopping Power...
I play hardcore, so I never really see the advantage to the M16. You don't need SP to kill faster, and the M4 kills in 2 bullets, so the M16 is a waste of ammo. In normal, it is a bit overpowered, but that's because of the 3 round burst.

Plus all the weapons pretty much kill the same. All snipers and shotguns take 1 round. All ARs and SMGs take 2-5 depending on your accuracy and shot placement. In MW2, they decided to take in account weapon damgae differences in hardcore, which severly fucked up the gametype. You didn't see a range of weapons, everyone just did what they did in Normal, but added more camping. So my friends and I went back to CoD4.

My favorite game of all time. You made a good choice. You might want to get that MW2 disc again though after Christmas, no one will be on it, and it will probably play better.

To be honest, MW2 got alot wrong, but some things I want to stay, however, things I'm glad to/want to see go:
-Stopping power - made the game too easy, plus people gained some sort of power fantasy because they could kill so quickly. Mr "Pro player" stopping power isn't required, its bollocks, To my knowledge BULLETS don't need to do more damaeg than they already do

-Overpowered pieces of ass/the omnipresence of assault rifles - Making guns balanced, required. The UMP, SCAR-H, RPD all needed down powering, even without the dreaded stopping power, these guns were too much better than alot of the others, meaning the game was saturated by their presence. And for god's sake remove the range cap from shotguns, we are aiming for realistic here, aren't we?

-"Sniper Pros" - Thank god for the nerfing of no/quick scoping, just a bunch of pretentious bullshit that ruined the game for many people, mainly having to put up with the over-compensating dicks that predominantely used the tactic

Stuff I want to keep:
Marathon/Lightweight/Commando - (Activating flame sheild) ***** all you want, this style of play was much, MUCH more fun than hunkering down and picking people off with your sniper/assault rifle from safe distance. If you were good, your KD wasn't affected, its fast paced and entertaining (and involves more than just knifing, you use you gun the most, funnily enough)

Grenade launchers (I refuse to call them Noobtubes) - Learn to deal with it, its a legitimate strategy that isn't massively pretentious. You can't handle it, use the blast sheild, if you think explosives are BS then you won't mind losing your semtex, and it is always a semtex.

Stuff I want to see:
Something that causes campers to spontaneously combust.

Removal of Akimbo shotguns, replaced by LMG's upon mastery.

It was a fun tactic that never got excruciatingly annoying, even in MW2. So what, it's not realistic or in your case "not being used appropriately". It was a fun tactic. If this game goes out with the new anti quickscoping feature I assure you that the sniping class will become obsolete.

Like I said, There is a point where you stop making the game balanced, and start to make it less fun.

Yeah, it is just a game but there has to boundaries on games. This game is aiming a at least a little bit towards realism, that's not to say it's going for total, unrelenting realism. It's treading a line between bat shit crazy (akimbo shotguns) and realism (shooting through objects) and I think snipers fall into the "we fucked that set of guns up" category.

Now you think it's perfectly acceptable to have a gun that kills at ranges other guns can't, kills before other people have a chance to aim and abuses the aim system more than any other gun, while thinking it's fair.

The knifing class is a fun tactic, noob tubing is a fun tactic but thats not the point. The point is there far too over powered, so are being removed.

What did Yahtzee say? "they are to balance what a crowbar to the knee caps are" (or something like that).

Recently I went against an entire team of quick scopers (not an hyperbole), my god was that game frustrating. It might be fun for you but it's not for the people who are getting owned by it.

I watched a vid today were a guy got a nuke in 30 odd seconds, he must have had a great time, do you think the other 18 players had fun?

To call quick scoping balanced is a joke.

You can think it will be unused but I am betting it will be used properly.

Welcome to the Escapist - couple of things:

Be nice to others and they'll respond in kind. I would advise avoiding comments like 'I'm better than you at 'X' game', because similar to your K:D ratio, no-one cares.

What the hell is with the miniature wall of text/your spelling and grammar/the fact that you're BRAGGING about having a 2.4 k/d ratio, I know I don't care about it, I'm sure nobody does. Also, stop flaming other games, if you must be a fanboy at least do it on a thread that's relevant.

OT: Quickscoping has been overpowered since CoD4, MW2 just made it worse and I was glad to see they'd fixed it for Black Ops.

Secondly, I didn't say to remove auto aim. Quick scoping works because when you hit your zoom button it will auto target an enemy if he's close to your reticule. I meerly suggest they don't do that.

However, I disagree that you can't play without auto aim. It would take more skill to be good but it's not like it can't be done.

agreed, or maybe those 12,000 kills on battlefront 2 i made weren't real...
(auto aim turned off in that game obviously)
