Not sure if this is news or not but I didn't find it elsewhere on the site and I've just seen it.

"omg little shit"

Man I wish I could see that mother go off at her kid/adult kid.

Interesting.

On a completely unrelated note, look at what I found on distractify. It's so cute! :3

Yeah, seems like a sound tactic.

There was a case a while back where some teenager was mouthing off in a similar fashion (something about putting a woman on a banknote in the UK?). The person on the receiving end got his mother's contact details and threatened to dob him in. Dude promptly made with one sweet and sloppy apology.

Something similar happened not too long ago with a doxxing threat. That one involved an actual phone call. To the kid's credit she was just young and overzealous and apologized profusely.

Telling their mothers: a tactic that never loses effectiveness.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Seriously this is so awesome. People are kinda forgetting just what a crime rape is. Especially in this context, when people are tossing it around so lightly. I mean, let's replace rape with "force you to have sex with me, shove myself into you whether you're ready or not, possibly make you BLEED, leave you hurting, traumatized, sullied and disgusted, standing in the shower for hours on end trying to wash it all away. Make you lose some of your ability to trust people from now on, forever making you feel a pang of fear when you realize you haven't made completely sure you're safe" etc etc

THAT is what these little shits threaten people with. To see it biting them in the ass is WONDERFUL.

Saw this earlier. Fucking hilarious, and the perfect way of dealing with these "little shits". Someone somewhere should make a series out of this. It'd easily go viral.

I'm rather concerned that it's so easy for people to find the contact details for minors and contact them directly.

Now, I'm only guessing here, but I think most of the folks saying this stuff are under 18 anyway.

Half the problem is just bad parenting, because lets be honest, rough 90% of children are little asholes that don't know any better, if only because they don't know that actions have consequences.

And if they're still an asshole when they should know better, well I'm all for forced castration.

Disagree there, plenty of adults totally fail at being decent members of society.

I'm not one for child abuse but if I was the father of that kid I would knock some sense into him. ? Only trash use rape threats.
Only trash ?knock sense? into their kids. A good parent can talk sense into their kids, or at least use different punishing tactics other than beating.

I find it absolutely ridiculous that you say ?I?m not one for child abuse,? and then say that you?d physically abuse the kid if he was yours.

And only if the parents care.

Those nine words I love so much: "don't you tell me how to raise my kids."

Did somebody call?

Do I have to bring up those words again?

No, you don?t, because I?m not telling anyone how to raise their kids. But I will openly call a parent that beats their children ?trash.?

Unless they put gun in my face.

Volunteered at an LGBTQ youth center a million years ago in high school. One day, some shitty boys kept calling us repeatedly to tell us we were disgusting faggots who were going to burn in hell. When we *69ed the little shits and told their parents how they'd been spending their afternoon, their shrill mother reminded us that we WERE faggots who were going to burn in hell, and their dad was proud of them for "standing up to homo cunts like you."

Just sayin', I have personally witnessed this tactic backfire hard. Sometimes, assholes get it from their parents.

(After that, it was policy to let phone harassers know that we were hanging up and that if they called back we were going to contact the police, and then following through with that threat. Cops are lame, and law enforcement needs to catch up with online harassment, but remember the link said a few of those mom's didn't get back to her. So they didn't get the message, or they didn't care.)

Chances are no kid has ever edited their Facebook privacy settings so quickly before.

I dunno. As a 21 year old who has been living away from home for three years, if my mum were to call me after hearing that I sent someone a rape threat,[footnote]Completely hypothetically, obviously.[/footnote] I would be scared shitless.

The point remains, as does the attitude.

In my experience, quite often.

I'm definitely more of a "nurture" than "nature" person myself though I think a lot of times it's that kids are raised by whatever media is available because their parents aren't. This isn't necessarily a dig on their parents- in my country, low-income families are really, really busy and it's hard to spend all the time with your kids that you'd like to when you need to work two jobs, and so is it any surprise that while you're dealing with eighteen-million things, your kids are getting raised by the internet/television/videogames/comic books? That's why I so appreciate efforts to get some tasty, intellectual nuggets into this shit. Maybe kids my day were getting raised by television, but goddamnit, they got raised by 3-2-1 Contact, Wishbone, Reading Rainbow, and Star Trek TNG.

And, you know, a bunch of other regressive shit.

Some REALLY regressive shit, which is probably why some of my classmates were saying some awful things about homosexuals over the phone. But those parents in particular were an education for me: A white queer girl who had parents who had steadfastedly made the leap from lower-income to middle-class, I had this idea that racism, sexism, and homophobia were "old" things, and that these days most everyone was cool with all that, because my parents and their friends were cool with all that. I was shocked to discover this kind of thought in our liberal, West Coast town. I wouldn't understand for a few more years that rape culture, racism, violence, homophobia, and the rest of those awful things were subtle enough to influence even the most liberal of communities.

My captcha is reminding me that this is Sparta.
