Halo 2 style health.

-Don't buy their games then.Indigo_Dingo said:The problem is that Microsoft seem to have this problem with driving their games in the wrong direction. I'll give you my practical example. Conkers Bad Fur Day started its days in the womb as yet another cutesy platformer. Someone made those remarks to Rare at the time. Instead of ignoring them, Rare changed the entire game as a "fuck you" to everyone who dared question them.shatnershaman said:Rare WAS and IS a good developer I don't see what the problem is.
The game received praise for being so far off the beaten track, so outside of convention. Up to that point nearly all platformers had been that family friendly atmosphere, and Conker turned that all on its head. The game also made certain to set itself up for a sequel.
By contrast, Live and Reloaded took a level that was made as a parody of other games (FPSs of the day), decided that it was the best aspect, and decided to make it the focal point. The juxtaposition was booted out, as all the cutesy anthropomorphic characters were bleached gun metal grey and clothed in armor.
Now, Live and Reloaded was a ok game, I enjoyed some of the time I played with it. But it shouldn't have been a damn Conker sequel. It should have been an entirely new game, and had nothing to do with the game that had chosen to mock the entire industry.
The same is happening with Banjo Kazooie now - it feels wrong that they're doing this. In the same way that people had issue with Goldeneye Rogue Agent using the name Goldeneye
Indeed. You would have thought they'd have figured out by now that Nintendo fans hate change.Indigo_Dingo said:I wouldn't get your hopes up. They've abandonded most of the new moves they made in Banjo Tooie, and replaced it with vehicle building. As a fan of the originals, i do not see this change as a good thing.
Don't forget us nit picky Halo fans (Valhalla isn't Blood Gulch!)Decoy Doctorpus said:Indeed. You're not as bad as Nintendo fans. Sure bitching about minute changes in the battlerifle's reloading time is a bad sign and when you look at them closely, not much has changed between each iteration of the Halo franchise but at least you haven't been playing the same god damn game for the last 10 years.shatnershaman said:Don't forget us nit picky Halo fans (Valhalla isn't Blood Gulch!)Decoy Doctorpus said:Indeed. Nah its been the same darn game getting worse. (Oh Mario 64 thy children hath "sucked")Decoy Doctorpus said:You're not as bad as Nintendo fans. How can you have one without the other?Indigo_Dingo said:There is a difference between change and improvement.
Mario isn't so bad. They at least tried to throw some new shit into each game. Galaxy did it fairly well. No Legend of Zelda is the worst offender.shatnershaman said:Nah its been the same darn game getting worse. EDIT: that reload is fucking slow in Halo 3 because of no melee speed up.
Now that's opinion. And if we are going by what we see in trailers/gameplay footage not the actually game then Killzone 2 E3 2005 is real and Lair is awesome. Maybe vehicles will be a good addition give the game a chance.Indigo_Dingo said:By the change making the game worse. Still Mario 64 is the best of 3D marios (don't forget the shit of Sunshine on the cube) I can't really judge Zelda since I don't like anything about any of the games (even the title is messed up it should be Link not Zelda)Decoy Doctorpus said:Mario isn't so bad. I think aside from the shitty story bits Galaxy was better than 64. That being said it'll never affect me the way 64 did the first time i fired it up.shatnershaman said:Still Mario 64 is the best of 3D marios (don't forget the shit of Sunshine on the cube) I can't really judge Zelda since I don't like anything about any of the games (even the title is messed up it should be Link not Zelda)Decoy Doctorpus said:Mario isn't so bad. That and the controller killed it for me. (And I prefer 64's levels.)Decoy Doctorpus said:I think aside from the shitty story bits Galaxy was better than 64.
