Reach, first impressions?

As Reach reaches [sub](see what i did there)[/sub] gamers around the world, what are our first impressions?

So far i'd have to say campaign is pretty good, though a typical Halo kind of deal. As in, if you enjoyed the previous installments, you'll like this one. If not, then you won't. Quite heavy on the vehicle sections too. Take that as a pro or con as according to your taste.

Multiplayer seems excellent so far. Particularly enjoying Headhunter. The jetpacks are seriously awesome too.

Doesn't Halo Reach not come out until tomorrow here in the states? That was my understanding. You must have obtained a copy ahead of time, you sly dog.

I'll be giving Reach a rent for sure, but as for buying the game I'll wait and see.

There in the States, yes. But you lot will be getting it later than most of the world because of the timezone you're in and all.

If it's as always, it won't really have a bad story or generic characters (assuming you pay any attention to it). Beyond that, those aren't first impressions, they're hateful assumptions. If all you're going to do is hate with no actual relevance to the topic, don't comment.

OT: I will have it soon, and I'm looking forward to it. Everything I'm hearing sounds great, so the wait is becoming less and less bearable.

Isn't the general idea that you play a game before you judge it? I thought that was the general idea; that you have to be able to justify your reasoning before you hate something.
anyway, it looks pretty ok, I might rent it at some point, but it's not at the top of my agenda.

The whole "Going into Halo threads and hating on the series, including the game that you probably haven't played yet regarding your unmitigated and generally unfounded hatred" thing probably helps.

What's this now? Hurm. I suppose I had this game stashed away in the back of my mind as "won't be out for a while" for too long. It appears that as of tomorrow the wait is officially over.

Seeing how this has been a major issue for me with every installment of the franchise so far, let me say one thing in advance: Fuck you, Microsoft. Fuck you with a big nobbly rod for sticking German players with nothing but the hideous German dub. How damn hard can it be to include a second audio track?

I'll rent the game as soon as I can. I don't expect the second coming of Jesus, especially seeing how I couldn't care less about the multiplayer component as per usual, but I still think it'll be an enjoyable little toy for the day or two it'll take me to recuperate from the 9-day scientific excursion to Vienna I just returned from 30 minutes ago. Did I mention I hate airports?

On topic: I feel so jealous of the people to have this game already. Amazon's ordinary delivery service means I'll be getting it sometime from the 16th to the 20-somethingth. Gah, cannot wait that long.

just finished the capaign. thought it was brilliant, and the ending was satisfying. the multiplayer that i have played has been amazing so far. haven't touched forge yet, letting my brother play it now.

It lloks to be a rugular AAA game. It gets the 9.5 and 10 from the fanboy reviewers just like other titles lke Super Mario Galaxy, Uncharted, etc.. get. Calm down people. This is like the 15th Halo thread I've seen in 2 days. Honestly fif you guys not play any other better games than Halo? Sure Reach wll be great (played the beta it was not 10/10 material but I like it more than 3, it has the classes feature that I loved from Killzone 2) but its not like its the only game you'll be playing for the next few months? Right?

He's probably tired of seeing 15 billion Halo threads. I'd understand if it did something that was never seen or heard of but its just a more polished Halo 3 with a more polished Forge world.
